Visited this place on our Rajasthan Tour in Jan 2020. They collect around Rs.100 as entry fee and the place was not at all maintained and many cenotaph dooms were collapsed and they not even cleared the debris. Many more are on the verge of falling down. It is completely unsafe and not worth for the money and pure waste of time.
It reflects how the present day Royal family respect their ancestors.

Bada Bagh
It is actually a place where artistic structures were made after death of Queens. Although it looks beautiful in google images, once you actually visit the place; they all look nearly similar. To us, this place has only importance for good photography or video shooting for films but otherwise there is nothing much to see.
Moreover, it is situated approx. 6 km from the main city. So, transport is a bit costly. Usually autorickshaw charges Rs. 300 t0 400 for to and fro (& he stays there). Plus, charges for the actual place to visit is Rs.150 per person. So your overall cost goes to Rs. 900 to 1000 (for family with 4 persons) where nothing much to see. So, I advise travelers to go only if you are interested in good photography and you have enough money to waste.

While the site is beautiful, the way of charging entry ticket is quite dubious, blocking passing the car and requesting the entry fee as well as photography charge without a proper ticket booth. We dont know to whom the ticket income goes.... If the previous ruler of Jaisalmer is charing, then it would be better even for them to make a proper ticket booth and charge in a more official way. It is not a matter of the amount, but the way of it is charged.
And those who are standing/or sitting there in the entrance of the road to Bada Bagh incredibly rude, hence i was questinning whether the entry income really goes to the previous Jaisalmer ruler s family.....

Bada Bagh is one very beautiful cemetery. We visited it in January so it was a little bit cold and froggy but it was amazing. You can take some beautiful picture and enjoy a short walk through the cemetery. It is a calm place with not so many tourists

Bada Bagh is a garden complex situated at a distance of 5-6 km from city centre. Bada Bagh houses set of royal chhatri cenotaphs constructed by the Maharajas of the Jaisalmer State. The memorial chhatri cenotaphs have been carved out of sandstone blocks and have been built The memorial chhatri cenotaphs have been carved out of sandstone blocks. , but have been built in at least four different sizes - for the ruling kings, their queens, their princes, and other royal family members. Each cenotaph has a marble slab with inscriptions about the deceased royal. When we visited at afternoon time and a symbolic image of a man on a day in Oct’23, the place was deserted. The entry fee of Rs. 150 per pax seems, seems to be too high. The place doesn’t offer much to explore barring some photo ops, a quick onetime visit may be made.

Bada Bagh chatris are the royal cenotaphs of rulers of Jaisalmer. Unlike their name, there is no presence of a garden (might be it was once there when it was founded). However the big dome like sandstone structures are the main attraction here 😍 the place is a great 📷 point and it’s super beautiful to be! It’s around 8km outside the main Jaisalmer city but totally worth the travel!

This is the burial ground of the Maharajas of Jaisalmer, including the current line of maharajas. Formerly set amongst gardens, hence the name bagh, the Chhatri cenotaphs are surrounded by only deserts. Most of the pavilion have withstood the harsh sand environment and remain in great condition. If you're in Jaisalmer, it is worth visiting for the photo opportunity. Some of the cenotaphs have interesting reliefs to indicate if a king or queen is being honoured. Some have sculptures of multiple queens to indicate polygamy.

This place is awesome & must be included in your excursion. This place is also famous for pre wedding shoots. Beauty of this place couldn't be define in words. Also, there is entry ticket (rs 100/- per person) & 150/- for camera/mobile. Pre wedding or pro photo shoot is expensive, I think 8500/- which they changed in front of me.

n Tuctuc schaust du am besten direkt vor dem Hotel. Vorgängig jedoch den Fahrpreis abmachen. Die Höhe des Fahrpreises fragst du an der Reception des Hotels. Lieben Gruss Gerhard

No, despite being District headquarter, Jaisalmer is small town/city where even no scope of public transportation but at the same time being a city of tourist attraction, lot of autos and jeeps are available for Rs. 200-250/- for return charges.Be aware, not a lady should go alone,in late evening, not to stay for late hours.Dont be panic, entire jaisalmer is safe but exceptional events cant be ruleout.
