There are two havelis here. One is old and next to it is the new one. The best part of these havelis are the carvings in the havelis. Jaisalmer will never fail to mesmerise you when it comes to carvings and architecture.

Lovely, lovely old city in the fort. Enjoyed every moment walking in the streets We had a terrible guide by the name of Lalla who spoiled our whole time there. To lazy to take us around and placed a lot of pressure onto us to buy stuff...and showed his absolute disgust if we did not do. Please get good guide... More

The guide, provided by the Palace on Wheels train company, gave us an invaluable and excellent historical account of this most atmospheric "living museum" from the time the city was founded in 1156 A.D., through it's time as an oasis on the Silk Road and up to date.

This havelis are so very beautiful, they display the intricate designs and carvings, you will want to capture it all in your cameras. Its at the walk-able distance from fort, with hawkers selling puppets and food stalls along the way. Place is a must watch for art and history lovers.

The fine elegance of the constructions, the balance of the façades and the exquisite quality of the stone carvings make a stroll through the town of Jaisalmer really a highlight. All the more so because the town is still very lively (and not a museum) and because the wealth is not limited to royals. Highly recommended !

This is an wonderful piece of history standing there, but not much care has been taken to protect it properly. The outside is very dirty with cowdungs and guides are not very educated to tell the good story of the place. They just made up weird fictional stories.

These Havelis are well worth a visit. Most interesting and I would recommend a guide as the history is worth the small amount asked.
