The Vedi Temple Complex is built on a raised platform and is comprises of Yajna Vedi, Square Chatri and Triple Shrines. There are no idols inside the temples, only structural remains are there. One can walk around and can feel the royal historical past of ours. The Vedi Temple is situated on the right hand side of the Ram Pol. One can go up the walls of the fort and can have great views of the valley, of the fort upward and of the Vedi temples and other temples nearby. One must read the information board installed just outside the temple on right hand side.

The Vedi Temple Complex is situated within Fort Complex. The temple is built on an elevated platform. Post Fort visit visited the temple, it has a nice architecture. However, there is no idol inside the temple. One can walk around the temple premises to explore the place.

it is to be done early morning.....it is a small hike but the rocks get hot in the sun and makes it difficult to walk up

This temple insde the Kumbalghadh Fort (turn right when you enter) is beautiful from the outside, but the sanctum sanctorum is kept locked.

A Beautiful temple on gate side of Kumbhalgarh Fort. A Pleasing to eye Building built in Old days may be . you cannot skip it.

On entering the Kumbhalgarh fort (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) from Ram Pole (from the parking area) one can see a majestic structure on the right. This structure is located on a high platform. This is the Vedi Complex or Vedi Parisar. The area is under Archaeological Survey of India. No other detail is available; which is a minus point and it in turns gives an opportunity to many self-styled guides – mostly locals to dish out some mysterious stories about this complex and the structures inside (A girl not more than 10 years old was offering to guide us for just Rs. 50.00).
This complex (dating between 1443-1457) was made by Rana Kumbha and certain sections of the complex were renovated by Maharana Fateh Singh. It is said that this complex was constructed by Rana Kumbha to honour the sacrifices of pilgrims, and today it is the sole pilgrim sacrificial site present in India.
Though there is not much information about this complex, based on its architecture it is a Jain religious Complex – Jains are the followers of Jainism.
Almost all Jain religious complexes are not stand alone buildings, they are clustered together creating complexes or what is popularly known as temple-cities. Other than the main temple which usually may have more than one shrine, there are many other additional buildings that form the part of the religious complex.
The Vedi complex also has the features of Jain religious complex. The Vedi complex is located on a high platform, to reach the entry area one needs to climb stairs.Jain religious complexes are built of platforms commonly referred as Jagati or Vedi (probably the name of the complex comes from this and not any Devi or Goddess as in mentioned by many). The idea behind the same is clearly defining the qualitative superiority of the sacred area in comparison with the lower area surrounding it.
The Vedi complex is enclosed by a high compound wall. All Jain religious structures have such walls which are known as Prakara.
There are 3 buildings or 3 structures in the complex. These structures are not interconnected and have different architectural styles.
The first structure is a 3 storey octagonal shaped building with 36 sculpted pillars. The colour of this building is slightly yellowish in contrast to other structures in the complex. The 3 storey structure has a dome shaped roof. The roof has beautiful elaborate carvings. There is ample light in this building because of its architectural style. This could be Balanka or entrance hall.
Behind this is a small open structure without walls; a dome shaped roof standing on 4 carved pillars which are on a raised platform. The colour of this structure is light grey similar to many other structures in Kumbhalgarh fort.
Just behind this, is the 3rd and final structure of the complex. There is a central structure which has a dome shaped roof, surrounded on the left and right with structures which look like Shikhars starting from the ground level. This building has beautiful carvings on the roof. The carvings would remind you of roofs at Dilwara temple complex or the nearby Ranakpur, but they are not that elaborate and not that maintained also. The complex has carved pillars. There are many beautifully carved sculptures inside the complex on the pillars where they meet the roof – some images of the Yakshas and Yakshinis who are considered the guardian deities. Yakshas (male) and Yakshinis (female) are neither divine nor eternal, just like us they are wandering through the cycle of life and death, are full of passion.
This complex is definitely worth a visit, a not to be missed attraction for its architecture and sculptures.

It is treasure of History Need to be maintained. I think Government should take important steps to save such a historic places. Lot of visitors are visiting but it was not maintained properly no cleaning near around areas.
