Maharana Sajjan Singh apparently had as little taste as other Indian native rulers, but he liked things flashy and big. He ordered a vast collection of crystal tableware from a Birmingham factory some time in the 1880's and he died before it arrived in India,...More

Given that this is more expensive than the palace museum, I was expecting better things, but I was very disappointed. - Durbar Hall should have been impressive but it had a horrible smell and was poorly lit: so it looked / felt a bit grim...More

According to Lonely Planet, this is a must see but I found it disappointing. After days worth of beautiful mirrored rooms, stunning architecture and intricate art, a hallway's worth of crystal didn't seem quite worth the time or additional cost. Yes, the furniture was impressive...More

A total surprise situated in this hotel, a huge collection of furniture totally made of crystal, originally bought for the Monsoon Palace - a rather dreary fort above Udaipur but with super views. This treasure remained un opened for 100 years.

The collection is pretty limited. Price of the ticket is Rs. 550 which is very steep. This includes the audio guide. They have some excellent collection of crystal ranging from sofas to even a bed. Royalty at its most opulent. It does seem pricey but...More

They accept both cash and card. THe entrance fee is minimal if you do not take a guided tour however I would strongly advise an audio tour which costs slightly more but absolutely worth evrry penny spent.

Is this crystal gallery open for public (of course with an entry fee of 550/- odd)? Or, do we need to book a stay in Fateh Prakash Palace hotel to see that? What are the timings?

it is open for all with payment ,no need to stay in hotel .ensure to visit darbar hall and ask the house keeper to lit up all lights as usually they avoid ,and if got a chance go to basement as well(which is restricted).
