This temple is one of the classic example for ancient Tamil Architectural works. Need to spend a full day to view the whole sculptures - wondered by the perfection in each work. Temple Complex is so clean and well-maintained & well-organised. Full of serene!

We went to Madurai for a business trip and had an opportunity to visit sri meenakshi temple. The ambiance is good. There is no charge for Indians to take photographs inside temple but foreigners have to pay INR 50 (less than 1 USD)to use camera inside temple. the crowd was less when we were there. The complete area is clean... More

It's recommended to enter by North or East gate called Gopuram. But Miaxiaamaan temple s situated near to Southe Gopuram. So it's long distance to cover from North or East Gopuram. Special... More

God Meenakshi was a daughter of malayadwaja pandian and It is a very ancient temple rebuilt by nayakkar who ruled ancient South Indian kingdom. On the 4 tall towers, the South tower is one of the tallest tower in the world. Must to visit temple for all the people.

Worth a visit if you are in Madurai, however, would not recommend a special visit to see the temple since architecturally, the temple is quite average.
