One of the six famous shrines of Lord Murugan, this is a must visit. Smaller than the other five. Famous for the epic encounter between Lord Murugan and Poet Avvaiyar in which the Lord humbles Avvaiyar . Located on a hill top has a sacred pond nearby where water flows throughout the year. Simple temple and your darshan will be... More

Pazhamudhir Cholai is one of the six abodes of Lord Murughan, here is is with both his wives. He is the dispenser of divine wisdom in this form. It is in the mountains near Madurai. It was very busy due to Shivaratri but the priest were very thoughtful and we got a good Darshan. A must visit for devotees

One of the six abodes of Lord Muruga. Trekking 2.5 kms from Alagarkoil will be excellent. Go in group as the pathway is filled with monkeys. Carry a stick. Small but a historic must see temple. A herbal water fall is located close by

It is on the hill top 4 kms from Alagarkoil temple. The main deity is Muruga and the visit makes u feel blessed. Many walk to the temple and you find lot of monkeys on the way. This temple gives you piece of mind. It also has similar structure as any other temple at Madurai.
