- NorthStar406861773582 contributionsAmazing experience!Everyone was very kind from the start, Edi (the artisan) showed us and explained the art of pietra dura and answered all our questions. His art is something worth coming for. Agra is pure magic and Edi and his team are too.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 10 December 2023
- Maps283853163382 contributionsArte en el TajI am from Mexico, I came to Agra with my sister and in our hotel Taj Mahal Resort there is an art gallery, where they explained to us the process of making crafts with the same material that the Taj Mahal was built. They were always very friendly and helped us pack everything perfectly to take on the plane. This is an art that everyone should know, it is beautiful and the prices are very reasonable. Thanks for everything Eddy 🫶🏻Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 10 December 2023

The sales manager Vimal Jain was extremely patient with us and walked us through each and every different type of marble work. You can literally meet the marble sculptor working his craft. Highly recommend going here if you are looking to purchase artifacts of the Taj or any marble piece. Even the basic fridge magnets were awesome!Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 5 January 2024

The Taj Gallery is located below the lobby of the Hotel Taj Resorts. Enter the hotel lobby and take the lift down one floor to experience this amazing workshop with artisan display plus a huge variety of quality Indian designer clothing. I made several visits to this store and Mr Vimal Jain alongside his polite and helpful staff were there to help me choose from a variety of scarves/ shawls as well as high quality local fashion. I was delighted to find the exact color and size I had been looking for in this delightful store! There's also a wonderful choice of marble pieces with semi precious stone inlay, creating some delicate, original and beautiful gift ideas.

I am glad to have purchased three pieces of inlaid Makrana marble from Adnan at the Hotel Taj Resort. The master craftsman, Imtiyaz, is in the showroom as he works, so that you can see the process and the skill as he works, and his son sits nearby grinding malachite, carnelian, lapiz lazuli, and other precious materials for use in the inlays. The prices are clearly marked on the pieces, and you are given full explanations and all possible help. I highly recommend them - this art is true art, and not a factory-produced second-rate imitation.

Beautiful art with very polite and knowledgeable staff. J.M. Singh taught us so much about the marable used in the Taj Mahal over a lovely cup of tea with demonstrations as well.
Cute shop with great prices and staff that aren't pushy.
Highly recommend adding this as a stop on your visit to the Taj Mahal.

We only visited this because it was in the same hotel we were staying in. Otherwise it would have been a real waste.
They have artists you can see while they work, but only in the morning - we didn't manage to catch it, it started after we left and stopped before we returned to the hotel.
It seems to me like more of an exhibition than a shop because the pieces are big! The small ones are not cheap, but if you have patience you can find something nice and affordable.
The staff wanted to show us everything and didn't let us look around in peace. The only friendly face was an older guy who let us look and only answered our questions after we asked, without getting in our face.

What is the average of prices of the souvenirs? How expensive can it get? And what currencies do they accept?
Written 17 March 2020
Hotel Managers will try and direct you to connections to buy souvenirs. They will obviously be getting a fee for that.
