This is a 16th century conglomerate of military strength and magnificent beauty. One can imagine the crocodiles in the deep moat surrounding the locale. Prepare to spend a lot of time exploring all the nooks and crannies of this site. A guide would be most helpful.

Another great heritage in Agra. I would recommend to go here after Taj Mahal visit. It is only 10 mins drive from Taj Mahal. Please allocate at least 1 hour to explore this red fort.

We found Agra Fort much larger and impressive than we expected. Our guide was a great help in providing information that really gave us an image of how life used to be here and we could picture ourselves as royalty looking over the land. Well worth the trip.

Steeped in history and drama, built by the mogul kings who lived in absolute luxury with their concubines. The builder of the Taj Mahal, Shah Jahan was imprisoned in the Agra Fort by his son to the end of his life who wanted overall power and control hence a guide is a must to bring it alive

A lovely experience, beautiful architecture with lovely views across to the Taj Mahal. Beware it can be quite busy with tourists, and if you're a white westerner like me expect Indians to want pictures of them with you, it's harmless fun but can get tiring after a while!

A gra Fort is located on the right bank of the river Yamuna in the city of Agra in Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the most important and strongly built strongholds of the Mughals, embroidered with number of richly decorated buildings surrounding the impressive Mughal style of art and architecture. It was constructed by the third Mughal emperor Akbar... More

I am a history buff and have traveled to many forts in India. This is one of the biggest and well maintained forts in India. Though most of it is occupied by the Indian Army, still many areas are open to the public. It's advisable to take a guide along (don't take Audio Guides as most of them would not... More

it is quite and impressive building- its red brick and the monkeys just roaming around it can be quite exotic as any Indian sight its so messy to visit if you do not have a guide to take you. The historical value is amazing, the stone work, the colours, the garden. the kings rooms and the views of the Taj... More

Interesting prelude to visiting the Taj Mahal. Beautiful garden area and vista of the Taj in the distance.
