The history of Agra Fort is very interesting. Apart from Taj Mahal this is another important place to visit in Agra which was built by Akbar, a Mughal emperor. It is a vast museums of ancient buildings and palaces. My husband actually likes this place more than Taj Mahal. I like both but the tour guide we hired here was... More

A huge structure, essentially a city within the city. Unfortunately we only had time to go round the tiniest part of it, but I found it much more impressive than the TM. if I came back to Agra I'd forgo the Taj and spend the day poking round here instead.

Agra fort, is the most important fort of India and numerous mughals lived here and country was governed from here. You can see Taj Mahal from Agra Fort. It has a mosque inside for the mughals.

Place is good and nicely maintained ... But the guides loot especially the foreigners ... I saying this especially to foreigners dont... More

The immense fort, is located about 2 miles from The Taj Mahal, and if the weather is right, you can get a good view of it. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638. The size is immense, covering over 90 acres, and contains many buildings, and at one stage there were over 500,... More

We loved it! Probably one of the best places of our trip to India. It's a bit expensive but you won't be disapointed!

once you have to see in life time...need a local guide if you need to know about full history. Guides are available entrance itself, fluent in both hindi and english. you can bargain and get low as Rs.100 for a guide. More than Rs.150 for a guide is not recommended from my part .

Soaked in Mughal history, each stone slab has a story to tell. Built over many decades by different emperors, no understanding of the medieval history of India would be complete without a visit to the Agra Fort.

Well worth the visit while in Agra to see the Taj Mahal. Its a large old fort and palace that is well preserved. The construction is interesting with the moats that were filled with alligators and the safety zones behind the moats that were filled with Tigers. It would be clearly difficult for intruders to penetrate. There is also a... More
