- Simon B12 contributionsBeautiful rugs, excellent serviceI have travelled extensively through turkey, Iran, Pakistan and India. On my travels I have developed a passion for rugs and enjoy viewing rugs of the area I visit. I found the approach by Andrew at Moghul Rugs refreshing, I was shown the normal display of making the rugs and the pleasantries of hospitality then the team showed the rugs. The approach was not pushy it was simply “let us show you the rugs, something you like we can discuss” We found a beautiful silk rug, we left the shop to think about it, returned later and negotiated a fair price. Andrew and his team organised for shipping of the rug we purchased from him but also another rug purchased at another store. Extremely happy with our rug and dealings with moghul rugs and would highly recommend others visit to see if something catches their eyeVisited October 2023Travelled on businessWritten 7 October 2023
- Helen N92 contributionsSuperb ethical handmade carpetsWe visited this carpet company today as part of our Taj Tour. We were sceptical at first but were at ease immediately upon entering the building. We watched the process of the handmade carpet weaving, the intricate pattern making and the process to create the finished product. The patterns were all stunning. Such skill. Excellent quality and passionate workmanship by a family who have a multi generational business. The company philosophy is ethical and you can be guaranteed there will be no child labour involved. The finished products are stunning and completely handmade. Thank you Imran for our visit and your passionate explanation of the process.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 October 2023

I was with Imran and he describes and shows me everything, without any pressure and of course drinking a cup of tea together.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 19 October 2023
- traveler32627 contributionsOur Wonderful Experience at Mughal CarpetFun experience! We had read good reviews about this shop, so we visited. Learn how the carpets are made. No hassle… they just show you different size, colors and designs. You pick out your favorite. I never felt pressured to buy. We purchased a couple of runners for ourself and family. They included shipping and they arrived by the time we returned from our trip. We love our runner and our family does too. Thanks Imran!Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 November 2023

- Judy T1 contributionThank you for my gorgeous rug.I bought a superb rug from Adil on a trip to visit the factory. I loved it so much that I contacted Adil and had another one made. I had a specific size so was needing the rug to be made. He sent me pics of the progress and good communication regarding postage etc. it arrived, all wrapped and tied like the beautiful jewel it is. I am so in love with this magnificent rug. I’m now looking for the space for the next one! Thank you Adil and to the family who carefully wove my rug.Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 18 June 2024

Dec 2019
Dec 2019. My friend Deanna and I are from Canada, we spent 2 weeks touring India from Goa to Agar and many places in between. We especially loved our time at Mughal carpet. We had the privilege of seeing 3 experienced weavers make a large rug. Their fingers were a blur tying the many knots to make such a beautiful rug. A friendly young man told us the history of Mughal carpet and explained to us how a rug is made. We saw many different patterns, sizes and colours of rugs. I purchased a long runner for my hallway and Deanna purchased a large one for her dining room. Mughal carpet shipped both rugs to Canada for us. When my runner rug arrived I was in awe of how beautiful it is and how beautiful it looks in my hallway. I know I'll have it for many years to come because I know that lots of love and happiness go into the creation of every rug. Thank you so much!

We took a Trip Advisor tour of Agra, the Red Fort and Taj Mahal. I don't remember asking to visit a carpet, so much as a pashmina, store, but we were brought here by our guide. We walked in the door, a man was at a loom, and the owner gave an eloquent presentation of the carpet-making process. My friend said he wouldn't mind seeing a few carpet for sale. Scores of rugs, two teas, and a bit of haggling later, and my friend and I bought three carpets. They are hand-made Persian rugs, of Kashmir wool. The quality level is high. The price is right. It's ok to do a little haggling about price. Less than 10 days later, they are in my family room. They look fantastic. I feel great about the experience. The owner is delightful, as is the man you give your credit card to. There was no high pressure sales pitch; almost all of the pressure in my case was internal. The rupee to dollar exchange rate arguably was 1% high. All in all, a near perfect experience I didn't expect to have. I would buy again.

Adil Khan has shown himself as humble, authentic, honest and kind with exceptional attention to detail. Mughal Carpet refuses to use child labor, pays fair wages & treats rug making as a spiritual, loving practice. The rugs are made with love and prayer. In turn, the energy in the rug becomes a beautiful part of your home and yourselves. I rarely do commercial reviews but believe it is important for people to know that they are not buying a cheap market rug here, but rather a superior quality family heirloom, handmade fine art which will be appreciated and will appreciate in value over generations. I personally recommend Mughal Carpet to anyone considering purchase of a rug.
My first guided visit to Agra included stops at several shops - gemstones, marble, art, etc. and I had absolutely no intention to buy a thing. However, as I learned and looked and listened at Mughal Carpets, I became enchanted and quickly decided on two modest pieces. A 2x3 and a 2x10 hall runner, both in a contemporary ‘baby elephant foot’ style. The rugs arrived a week after our agreed predetermined ship date.

The transaction from ordering carpets from Mughal’s website to home delivery has yet again been absolutely seamless.
I would not hesitate to recommend Adil and his team at Mughal. This is the 3rd carpet purchase over a number of years - and won’t be the last - we need 1 more!!
Payment is via secure PayPal and delivery door to door with a tracked FedEx facility.
We are absolutely thrilled with our latest purchase.
Thank you so much, Adil and the wonderfully talented village weavers.

I really love my rug, and the staff seemed very honest and not-pushy.
However, really disappointed when I got home and FedEx demanded I pay 17% of my purchase price in import taxes :-(
The thing is, I would still have wanted the rug, but I just feel it was a bit underhand not to tell me about this possibility when I purchased. I see its on the receipt but you only get the receipt once you've already paid. So its too late by then.
I tried to contact them about it, but they've clearly decided they won't respond to me.

My daughter and I visited this store after visiting the Taj Mahal. The rugs are stunningly beautiful and soft to the touch. There is a nice demonstration on how the rugs are made and you can try it yourself. The employee did not pressure us into purchasing a rug he will show you any size or style they have available. The price is negotiable so no need to go with their first "best" offer price.

Adil Khan, the owner of Mughal Carpet, is a sincere, upright, and honest person. He is the hub of the wheel of the carpet creation community in Agra. He cares about his weavers and looks after them with parental concern. That all being said, his carpets are unbelievably beautiful. They are so charged, they have the ability to not only transform the room in which they're placed, but also to uplift the vibration therein to astral heights. I speak from experience. And, when I look at those rugs and contemplate how many man-hours went into weaving them - it is staggering, and makes me even more appreciative and very, very happy about owning (two) of them.

I had a great experience with Mughal Carpet. The tour began with the history of the area and weavers. We then saw wonderful demonstrations of the various rug designs and sizes. They are able to get large rug sizes down to fit into a checked luggage bag! Or they will ship rugs internationally. The families making these rugs come from a long line of talented craftsmen and it is such a joy to have a piece of their art back home. I saw other comments of import taxes upon receiving the item. This was not an issue for receiving the package in the United States.
