VaranasiWalks is the oldest experience oriented eco-friendly walking tour...

VaranasiWalks is the oldest experience oriented eco-friendly walking tour and boat journey collective in Varanasi.

Since 2008 our Explorers have given an intimate look at the holy city of Varanasi and are able to show you places in the city that the average tourist could never find.

Our walks cater to those who want to see the layered interiors of the city and avoid the static silk shopping game. The boatrides include short walks and detailed history along with immersed experiences!

As a collective of residents of the city we are flexible and open to working with you to create a experience you will never forget.

VaranasiWalks was started by Jai while he was running a successful Hindu Studies & Hindi Language university program and working in the Social Service sector. Jai has been giving walks in Varanasi since 2004.

Pappu was able to give such interesting information and show us the regeneration and change that is happening for the good in Varanasi. It was inspiring to know that there is huge improvement in this town. Unquestionably, a real highlight of our time in Veranasi. Being in the city for almost nine days, we took advantage of two Veranasi Walks per day. Each was filled with a richness that allowed our entire group to feel special. Jai (owner) with Mahdu, Lio, and Michael presented the city, its people, its varied cultures, and its food in a... Great experience, was a little sceptical at first as our guides were originally westerners but they soon won us over. They knew absolutely anything we threw at them and more. Good humour, the boat ride and seeing the cremations was something I won't ever forget. Amazing experience. Thank you

I was in Varanasi for 2 days and booked a walk for the second day of my trip. I chose walk 4: Northern bazaars and hidden alleys. On the first day of my trip I already spent quite some time walking through the city, but walking through the city with a guide adds so much to the experience. The details... More

I opted for two tours: City of Light in the evening and Sunrise Boat Trip the following morning. My guide Munindra was there at the agreed meeting points waiting for me. He has a route in mind but was completely flexible and happy to accomodate if I wanted to deviate. The walk through market area would not be possible without... More

This experience was really a highlight for us in Varanasi. We were met by our wonderful guide Papu who went above and beyond sharing his knowledge and making sure we got the most out of our morning boat ride on the river ganga and then exploring the maze of alleyways in this incredible city. His knowledge and passion was what... More

We visited Varanasi early January and booked the Northern Bazaar walk that we really enjoyed ! Our guide Munindra was very knowledgable and was able to answers our questions about the historical, cultural and religious aspects of his city and its citizens. He made us discover some hidden treasures and showed us the local life. Very pleased with the experienced,... More

We took the northern alleyway and bazaar walk and our guide Amrit was superb. enthusiastic and intelligent about his city and informative without being pushy or over friendly. I thoroughly recommend this company, although not cheap it is well worth the money for an insight and knowledge of the area and its history.
