Banaras and (Kasi) Vishwanathji ki mandir Temple and ghat visit!!! Be prepared for a surprise experience if you are a first time visitor to the temple. It's very unlike the traditional temples of india; Simple and sans grandeur or pomp; Opt for an early morning darshan - around 4 AM; Even earlier is better. You'd walk around narrow alleys to... This is a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the 12 jyotirlingas. It has 4 entrance gates and entry from gate no. 2 is the shortest distance you can take to reach the temple. The entire way to the temple is lined with shops selling soveneirs, pooja items, flowers etc. Now one thing you should be... More

What a fantastic small temple. To see so many people practicing their devotion is quite something. The queues can get long but they go quickly, and with so many policemen in the area everything works like clockwork. The temple itself is not so special, even if it has a rather valuable roof. The place can be significant in a person's life... More

If you are a staunch believer in faith and religion you may visit the place. I had visited during Diwali and it was absolutely chaotic. I spent 2 hours in the queue to get a glimpse of the shivaling which is considered to be one among the 12 jyotirlingas. You are not allowed to stand near the main shivalinga for... More

Visited the temple after the Ganga Arti but was really sad to see the state of the temple. It was not clean & there was a stink of coconut water. The passage that lead inside the temple was also very dirty. The temple trust need to take cognizance of the same & manage it well.

High security because the old temple that was destroyed has a mosque built on the site now and Hindu nationalists want to move the temple back to the site. Non-Hindus are not allowed inside but you can see the golden top and peer in through the open gates.
