The day we went, Nov 30 2016, was a misty day - so we missed the sunrise rise. But the mist added to the allure of the place. The stately aarti followed by a traditional Hindustani rendition of Todi by a extremely talented young artist set the tone for a great day!

Very large ghat, nicely maintained and free from garbage. The "Suraj-mandap" at the two ends must be very comfortable during day-time. I however visited the ghat after 5 in the evening. The Ghat also has public urinal which again is nicely maintained. Overall, a great experience!

Assi Ghat is the southernmost Ghat in Varanasi. The Pizzeria on Assi ghat is popular among couples, students and foreigners alike. You get good sunset views from the Ghat

First ever visit to Varanasi and I was blown by how mighty the Ganga is. Wish I had more time to walk and explore the Ghats. There was a Kushti competition on Assi ghat while I was there, fun to watch:)

Assi Ghat is the last of ghats at Varanasi. Buzzing with activity irrespective of the time of the day. Dont miss out tasting the lemon tea here.

This is the last ghat of Varanasi. Approachable by four wheelers. Very well maintained by an NGO. Therefore clean and nice.

The morning Ganga arti before sunrise, is organized by Subah-e-Banaras. It is an experiencing that's sure to touch your soul. The unique aspect of this aarti are the group o girls who chant the prayers for the aarti as well as the yagya - unique in that I've never experienced a Hindu prayer session led purely by girls. Their voices... More

A visit to Assi Ghat is an essential part of any visit to Varanasi. It is definitely worth getting to the Ghat by 5.45am to watch the sunrise over the Ganges and see and hear the fabulous Hindu ceremony, with live music, singing and yoga. Have some respect for this tradition and don't stand in front of the performers to... More

The aarti which is organized at 5am is amazing with 7 people performing it for roughly for 1 hr! The boat ride after that is a must with such a serene view of Ganga and all the ghats PS - Dont miss the kachori and jalebi breakfast after the boat ride
