Naina Devi Temple , Nainital
Oct 2019 • Family
Naina Devi Temple as per the priests it is said that Goddess Sati visited her father with her husband Lord Shiva to attend a 'yagan' uninvited. As her father didn't like Lord Shiva , he insulted him which was unbearable for Goddess Sati ! She felt highly humiliated ,she then committed suicide .Lord Shiva held her body in his arms and won't cremate her . Days passed but he stood adamant .Then Lord Visnu releases his Sudhershan Chakra which cuts body of Goddess Sati in 52 parts ,wherever her part fell ,that place came to be known by that part and a temple came up .Here her eyes ie Naina fell so Naina Devi Temple and place was called Nainital! It is beautiful temple ,situated between Tibetan Market ,Bhootia Market and Naini Lake .When we visited it was Navrartras time and people had thronged it .As you enter there is a huge idol of Hanumanji , a bit further down is Shivling and Nandi .In front of it is Naina Devi ,on side of it is Bhairo Dev .Further ahead are Radhe Keishan ,followed by Shani Dev and then Ma Santoshi. As it was Durga Puja time a huge Pandal was put up with Ma and it was crowded with people doing her puja. It is beautiful Mandir ,if you go to Nainital ,darshan is a must seeking Devine blessings.

Eternally graceful !
Oct 2018 • Couples
Maa Nainadvi presiding over the lake , the city and beyond is ever graceful ! It's such a wonderful experience to be here. We were here on an October evening, bit chill though. The temple had less number of devotees at that point of time. The lake looked beautiful in the night from the temple.
Such a blessing to have her Darshan !
Jai Naini Maa !

Nestled next to the Nainital Lake is the beautiful and serene Naina Devi Temple after which Nainital is named, it is a clean temple and one can pay their obeisance here, the view of the lake from the temple compound is breath taking.
