The temple complex is located on the Herat of the city and the temple is build over a small cliff . Very much approachable by road as well as by rail on the way to Agra from Delhi or vice versa. The idols , paintings and the historic rooms will all attract one . After all , you are visiting the historic place of birth of lord Krishna. Although it. Is little crowded on holidays , the ambience inside gives much relief for the people who are going for worship. Ideal place for worship. It is surrounded by lot of temples and Ashrams . Recommended

It was a great experience to visit the prison cell where Lord Krishna was born in Mathura. Quaint red stone walled prison dungeon with two narrow passages. The temple complex nearby has wonderful murals painted on its roof, as well as the walls, with Bhagavath Gita written on Copper plates, welded to the walls.

Security was water tight at this location. The food distributed to the pilgrims there was clean, healthy and tasty. Overall a nice visit with family.

It ws my family visit with my old mom and 6 yrs old son. There are 9 or 10 temple inside. Thought of something else so we took a guide (Rs100) to know more about the place but it is not needed at all. Parking is a problem. Any battery product not allowed inside, clock room is available ay all gates. The route is well managed and easy so no need of any guide. Entry is Free. Nice visit.

The first thing I could notice here was the huge crowd at the entrance. They do not allow any mobile phones or electronic devices. They separate boys and girls in different queues. So it was first difficult to co-ordinate within members of your group in such a crowd. The temple has its own history which attracted me to visit this place. Temple is clean and well organised. But Parking cars around this temple was a big issue. It was very uncomfortable experience.

Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple complex is situated in between Vrindavan and Mathura a place called Govindpuri or Govind nagar. It is said that the Lord Krishna took birth in the Karagar (Jail) at this place. The complex has many segments such as Leela Mandir, Sri Radhe Krishna Mandir, Yantra Chalit Jhanky, Ayurvedic hospital, Keshev Mandir, Giriraj Mandir, Garbh Grih, Yog Maya Mandir and amn made Cave. All are extemely beautiful. The Garbh Grih is said to be exact place where Krishna took birth.
While we were roaming around, one Pandit met us and told that the real birth place is opposit this famous temple. We also went there which just 50 meter away. There is very old structures, not well maintained. The Pandit also showed us the court orders in this regard. as per him, the industrilist like Dalmia and Birla made the new temple complex with the huge amount in more attractive manner which is now known as Sri Krishna Janmbhoomi but in fact (as per him) Lord Krishna was born in the old structures (still existing) where pillars of Jail is still available.
I am not going into the details of any controversy, but I will definitely say it is a place worth visiting.

Being at number of other religious places, we thought that this place will be religious and friendly for all kind of people. What surprised us was that this city is very tourist unfriendly one. People are ready to pick fights with everyone who doesn't have UP number plate. Not surprised that this has not developed for tourism.

There is no parking space and you will have to struggle. The traffic is tiring in the city. There are no good places to sit and eat near this place.

The temple admin is not up to mark. To much crowd but noone to regulate.

The main temple closes at 12 noon sharp and then reopens at 4 PM. So plan your trip accordingly.

We are not planning to go here again.

this temple was our favorite, nice to stay there with friendly people .As alwys in the temples be careful what you do ,don´t show much money as they want to sell you rituals ,do not accept any flowers and things like that. Only donations in the boxes, if you like. Otherwise you get rid of more money you maybe want to.
