Beautiful!!
Aug 2021 • Friends
It's a beautiful waterfall located on the way to Mussoorie. About 10-12 kms before the library chowk, is the point on the highway where you can either opt to take the 5-minute ropeway to the falls (200 rupees for both sides) or walk down a steep path for about 20-25 mins to the falls. Driving down is also an option to a point. We took the ropeway.

The fall itself has clean water and multiple levels. It is definitely better than the Kempty falls which seems nothing more than a concrete pool with hordes of people in it. This one has retained its natural cascading beauty. So far.

Along the fall are vendors selling maggi/eggs etc. There is kind of an entertainment park where the ropeway stop is. If you have not taken the ropeway, the entry fee is 50 per person. This has some green lawns, a small pool, a small man-made boating lake, a restaurant and what seemed like an ongoing construction of a roller coaster.

Overall, a good experience.

Nice experience at Bhatta Falls
Jan 2021 • Friends
A nice experience. I visited there on 30th Jan 2021 with friends and family. It was a nice experience but required little more maintenance and cleanliness. Food there is not so good. The best experience is of eating maggi while sitting on water of the falls. You can try this as it is not as crowded as Kempty falls and may be in few months the construction there can get completed.

Bhatta Fall: Bhatta Falls is a recently developed picnic spot near Mussoorie. Located at about 7 kms from main Mussoorie city, Bhatta Falls is still untouched by commercialization and has a natural stream of water flowing down the hills. Advisable to visit from 9: AM to 5 PM. Ropeway costs Rs.150 per person.Upside Down.

worth visiting
Dec 2020
A better option is if you are not able to go to Kempty waterfall due to lack of time, then this waterfall is a short distance from Mussoorie and Dehradun route. The waterfall is also safe, bathing can also be enjoyed. There are also some maggi points as well. There is also an adventure park just before the waterfall, in which boating, swimming etc. can also be enjoyed. This waterfall can be reached by walking some 300 meters from the car parking.

Smaller water falls but more entertainment
Nov 2020
When coming down 7km from Mussoorie towards Dehradoon, you will find way to Bhatta Falls on right hand side of highway. It is around 1km narrow smooth road to reach parking space there. A small lake with some water activities with entry ticket is there. For Bhatta falls one has to walk upwards on right side along the water stream. Several restaurants are there along the steps going up. One can take bath in flowing water in small pools made their. Change rooms facilities are also there. After walking up approx. 100m, one can see the small powerful water fall, water droplets were there in the air making to you wet. One can take bath there also. We went further up to top of fall, there we sit in the running water on chairs and enjoyed soft drinks. We reached before 10am there, so no crowd there. Those who want to bath in water fall, this place is better as compared to Kempty falls.

Pathetic commercialisation done to natural falls
Sep 2019
Been going to bhatta falls since 2006 , used to be a great falls, isolated and untouched from unnatural concrete structures! But now govt is spoiling the site by doing unnecessary commercial construction ! Just same way they did to kampty fall and company bagh! Converting it in another garbage site seeing!

Good place for kids to enjoy
Feb 2020
There is a small waterfall, a garden with some beautiful flowers. The entire place was clean and well maintained. However, the place is probably best described as a entertainment stop for kids. There are some adventure sport options for adults as well, but if you do not have much time, its better to utilize that time catching the picturesque locations of Mussoorie/Dehradun.

Bhatta Falls is one of the popular go to destinations for any tourist or traveller visiting #Mussoorie and hence, this one was on our list too when we were at Mussoorie during our one month long self drive vacation across #Uttarakhand in #Feb2020..

Ofcourse, if you have to experience the falls at it's very best - the peak tourist season is the right time to drop in - April to June - one can take a bath or even swim in those falls - adequate changing rooms are available..

Unfortunately, the water flow was almost negligible and even the #ropeway to the fall was also closed - hence, we couldn't visit this one at all however, I managed a few good clicks around - do #browse the pictures below..

Better than Kempty falls
Jan 2020
Bhatta falls gets its name from the Bhatta village where it is located. Near the falls you can see an old abandoned hydro electric power plant. The water fall is formed when water descends almost 30 metres amidst lush greenery. A huge pool is formed at the bottom of the water fall. You can also use the stone steps to get to the top of the waterfall.
