This shop sells some batik patterns not found elsewhere during our one-week stay in Bali. This shop also sells patterns that we purchased here for IDR $195,000 but then found at other shops where we were able to negotiate down to IDR 50-75,000 respectively. In short, we were ripped off.
We were searching for quality batik prints and fabrics, specifically for 100% cotton and linen fabrics. We wanted quality fabrics with stitching that would not come undone in the first wash and batik prints that would not run. However, the stitching of my batik pattern long skirt-type practically had the threads shredded to pieces during the first wash on gentle cycle. At least 30 4-inch pieces of the thread had to be cut from hanging off the skirt.
Recommendations:
-This shop sells some patterns not found elsewhere but best look elsewhere first.
-May be wise to purchase loose batik fabrics and have it sewn at your favorite tailor shop back home.
-Don't forget to have a look at the women working on batik by hand out back near the parking area. Super neat!
If you found this review helpful in planning your trip, please give it a thumbs up! Thank you!

This is the second time I visited a batik-making establishment and it is still interesting to see how it is done...usually by ladies who can draw and make patterns in fast strokes! The batik sold here is a bit pricier than other retailers but perhaps because of the quality of the batik. From handmade to stamped, there is a batik that would meet your budget.

As part of a cruise excursion we were transported to this shop and demonstration center which was advertised as the best batik product available. Outside the shop there were four women demonstrating the steps required to produce the batik product. Obviously, a very labor intensive process that requires very fine motor coordination is required to produce the batik cloth. Inside the air conditioned shop are a wide range of souvenir products and batik cloth. Prices are very negotiable and vary widely depending on the cost of the product. We purchased a few simple and inexpensive straw coasters and negotiated a 75% reduction of the advertised price. Other visitors negotiated a 20% price drop on some batik shirts. If you are in the area the shop is worth a brief visit but there are many other batik shops in the area with substantially lower asking prices of the same quality batik products. You pay more here because it is the choice for touring buses because of the large parking lot.

Upon entering the big and gated place, you will see how the Balinese women make the batik and design the cloth. Then they will lead you inside a very big air conditioned souvenir store. It has all kinds of batik - clothes for men, women & children, wallets, bags, tissue holders, coin purse, neck ties, wall art, name it and they have it!

Demonstrates the Interesting and lengthy process of batik, we were told how it was done and there is a shop there where you can buy the products as well as lots of other Bali type souvenirs. Felt that the explanation of the process was rushed and not to detailed, would have been good to get an opportunity to try some of the steps to get more involved.
