- Downtown83Nanjing, China544 contributionsNice, but too many stray dogsIt’s really a nice beach with nice sand and beautiful water. You can walk up and down for a long time and it’s really not crowded and you don’t get bother by sales people. Only downside is the high amount of stray dogs, especially in the mornings.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 29 December 2023

- Haggis_SupperBeaumaris, Australia846 contributionsBetter than expectedAs we were staying at the Intercontinental, we had a couple of walks along the beach. Surprisingly, there was very little litter to contend with. Down towards the beach side cafes there was definitely an increase and way too many cigarette butts - I would imagine these were from restaurant staff/patrons rather than from the ocean. Quite a few swimmers and a lot of folks getting surfing lessons. All in all, way better than we expected.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 May 2024

If you you want to sit in the beach surrounded by rubbish, animal faeces and broken rocks, that litter the beach and access to the water, jimbaran beach is for you. Towards the end of the day, you get to enjoy engulfing smoke from the surrounding beach restaurants, that is so overwhelming and pervades everything. Was the worst week of holiday, stayed at Le Meridien, that dated back to the 80’s - was very old and tired and room facilities kept breaking. A total no go stay

On this beach are a few famous five star resorts located. Wide open sand beach, with some average waves. Nice but in some areas already polluted. Nice is to stay at the sunset bar at Intercontinetal with stunning views of sunset. Airport is just few km nearby, a lot of planes flying in and out.

The beach is very quiet and peaceful during the day. There were only a few tourists out mostly hanging out at one of the many beach restaurants and bars. At night the beach becomes very crowded as it is very popular among locals. The sand is soft up to the tidal edge where it becomes mixed with gravel and shells. Unfortunately, the sand is also used as a latrine for the many many dogs who run wild in the area and you need to tread carefully when the tide is out. Swimming in the ocean is not the best as the water deepens gradually and you need to go out farther than is comfortable to swim. The waves are not bad but are to little to body surf or do any surfing.

This beach looked beautiful and after reading reviews on Google, my wife and I decided to stay by this beach for a night before heading to the airport the next day.
We got there and stopped at a nearby restaurant (warung) for a bite and we got a cabana and a drink. It was super hot as expected and we were excited to get in the water, this is where the disappointment set in...as we walked down to the water the beach was absolutely littered with trash. We walked by it and got in the water and the plastic and trash in the water was literally everywhere, it was so disgusting that people could do this to such a beautiful beach. We stayed a few hours and dipped a couple more times to cool off, but left feeling grossed out from being in that water. I'm sorry to write a review like this, but I really hope Bali can clean up it's beaches, because this one we will not be visiting again.

Nowhere to eat here if vegetarian. All the restaurants have the same limited options selling seafood only. Thought we had found one restaurant but after waiting for more than an hour for food we discovered they had forgotten about our order. After looking elsewhere we did find another restaurant who were over staffed and spent the time recording us eating. I had a vegan burger but I am not totally convinced it did not contain fish. Best avoid this area if you are looking for food other than seafood!

Experienced the "must do" seafood on the beach at sunset. Meal cost $50 for 2 fillets of fish and a one prawn (no grog). Beach was filthy. Never again. I suggest going to the traditional food places which is much cheaper and more choice.

Arrived and stayed in New Hotel across from restaurants. Immediately went to beach to grab something to eat beach side. The amount of trash washed up was an immediate show stopper. Plan was to stay three days, we’re out of here.
Very sad to say the least.

This beach was in walking distance of our villa and it’s so beautiful on the tourist side. Clean and well maintained. Low tide is very pretty in the morning and evening with lots of good restaurants on the beach to go to for Happy Hour and meals. The only thing I wish was different was the rocks and shells in the water that makes going swimming a bit difficult and dangerous. It’s hidden by the waves during high tide making it harder to navigate than during low tide for walks. Other than that, very nice!

Has anyone tried to fly a drone here? I noticed its less than 5mi from the airport, does FAA laws apply here similarly? Thank you
Written 5 November 2018
I saw two guys flying two drones along the beach at the other end away from the airport. They were only flying them at tree top height

Can someone please tell me where the local boats that aren’t too dear 50-100k depart for the surf breaks such as airport rights/lefts and middle reefs?

Is there good vegetarian food available on this beach ? and is it really worth a visit?
Written 23 July 2017
The restaurants on the beach are mainly fish but we had some good vegetarian rice and vegetarian noodles here.
The sunset at the beach is excellent and the vibe in the beach warungs is good fun at night.

Hi I presume jimbiran bay and jimbiran beach are close to one another? Also is there shops here or just beach walks and restaurants? Is ayana spa close by ?
Written 9 November 2016
Not sure about Astana Spa..... the resort we stayed at had a private beach, 10 minute walk max. Plenty of shopping and Warungs within easy walking distance.

I'm planning on traveling to Bali next week with my girlfriend. For part of the trip, I'm debating whether to stay here or at Sanur Beach. Neither of us are surfers and prefer quiet, clean beaches with calm waters. Any suggestions? Thanks! :-)

Hey Luke! If you like just swimming Sanur and Nusa Dua will be perfect places for you) Jimbaran is not very clean beach...But fish restaurants are the best on Jimbaran beach)
