We started the day with a trip to the local market exploring Balinese fruits, spices, flowers, coffee and assorted other fun things. Then, off to the class. We were greeted to the family compound with great stories and a refreshing welcome drink to cool down before class started. Next, onto the class. The various ingredients for the coming recipes were... More

Yum, yum, yum! Food was delicious! We did a morning class which included an informative market tour. It was great to learn about new food and try different fruits. We then went to some rice paddies and learnt about the farming of rice. Then it was off to the kitchen where we made a soup, sate, curry, bean salad, gado... More

Having been to the cooking class, it is easy to see why so many people rate it as 5 star - it truly is a great experience. The people (like most in Bali) are warm, passionate and respectful. They immediately make you feel welcome and treat you very well. They even give you the recipes, so that you can make... More

This is a must if you have a free day. My husband and I attending to morning class as the highlight of my birthday activities. We have had an interesting and odoriferous visit to the market where we had the opportunity to learn about the local faire. You are able to sample some of the fruits and you have the... More

we toured a local market first and were able to get some spices to take home, then stopped by a local rice field. The location for the class is fantastic set at their home. We took our 3 yo and she was able to participate a little with us. They also accommodated my peanut allergy. We were given a recipe... More

All-in-all a good experience - and one that is recommended; however, I would have preferred smaller groups (11 in my group) so as to get more individual attention and experience with the various Balinese ingredients. The staff were pleasant and helpful; but, I could not shake the assembly-line feeling as we moved through the process. Perhaps call and try to... More

My husband and I attended this class on our honeymoon. It was great-- super clean, very organized, and the food was so good. Puspa aunty is hilarious, and so friendly! However, we were expecting the class to be more hands- on. Because there were ~25 people in the class at the time, it was kind of an assembly line situation,... More
