I last reviewed Sumadi's Bali Bird Walks a little over four years ago. Her walks have only improved since that time. Sumadi is a Balinese treasure and her knowledge of the natural environment and Balinese culture is peerless. Her attention to the smallest details while leading you through the urban and rice field environments has everybody entranced by her knowledge... More

I can't think of anything else better for a bird lover. I am a novice birder and I loved every minute of this bird walk. My partner knows very little about birds and we also loved it. We saw so many birds (I name them below for fellow birders), butterflies and lizards. Su is amazing at spotting the tiniest lizard... More

Enter Sumadi - your experienced and charming lady guide to explore the beautiful fauna and flora surrounding Ubud. It is more than watching the odd bird. You will be walking comfortably (but bring your sneakers) between rice paddies. We learned about - sometimes even tasted - herbs, fruits and flowers (nectar of the sleeping hibiscus!), had an introduction to a... More

Just back from a 2 week stay in Bali. The bird walk with Su was a highlight. Very informative, saw so many interesting species. Su described a lot about different plants too. Walk was the right length given the heat. Free meal after was also really good.

We reminisced so frequently after this tour of how interesting it was! We saw some interesting fauna and wildlife more than just birds. Su is a knowledgeable guide and fun too! I would do it again and will when I go back. The good was A lovely treat at the end of the tour. I highly recommend it if you... More

Miss Su has a wonderful way about conducting the walk through the rice paddies of Penestanan, close to Ubud. There were just 3 of us guests, and we saw over 21 of the local birds, and Su was able to identify every one of them. The walk was all on flat ground, no hills to climb, and much of it... More

Best tour in Bali. This was my fifth time doing this tour over many years and I have loved it each time. If you love nature you'll love this tour. We saw kingfishers, butterflies, lizards, frogs and all sorts of other birds, plants and insects. Su has an incredible enthusiastic knowledge of Balinese flora and fauna and knows undiscovered peaceful... More

For a couple that loves the outdoors and nature this was a great experience. Informative. yes! Interesting, yes! Most of all you see Ubud in a different and better light. It is had to pick out a highlight as it is much more than just bird life. Drinking fresh coconut opened on the spot was a pleasant surprise and meandering... More

Sumadi is very knowledgeable and pointed out many lizards, big and small, butterflies and of course birds. We saw a peregrine falcon catch a bird mid flight. Also saw three different types of kingfishers which was very special! You do need to be fit and be able to handle walking across the small paths of the paddy fields which are... More

This provided the best chance of meeting the local environment, seeing the people work the rice padis, and be introduced to the local birds, insects and plants. Su, who guided this walk has an impressive depth of local knowledge. She is a local with a life-time of experience in this area of Ubud. It was the highlight of our trip.
