Kecak fire dance

Mesmerizing. Beautiful costumes. The men are in circles chanting while dancers walk around and various characters tell the story through their movements.

This was something different you can do in ubud. Show is presented every tuesday evening and it lasts for an hour. The show was supposed to be first on an open space but right when it was about to start it started to rain, and immediately they had a plan b, and show was changed to a place with roof... More

A traditional Balinese Dance with no actual fire until the last 5-10mins towards the end of the show. It is performed at an outdoor theatre which is subjected to weather condition. In order to get good seats, it is recommended that you arrive an hour or 2 earlier for sight seeing as the cliff view of Uluwatu is breathtaking and... More

They try to display the Indian epic Ramayana in a dance form.. The effort applied in doing so is really worth a praise.. but it is difficult to understand the story and what is happening on stage.. (even when i am very very familiar with ramayana)..

A great show at a great location! Only downside for me was the fact that there are a lot of ignorant people there that think it's normal to arrive nearly 30 minutes after the show has started and they're blocking the view for a lot of spectators whilst in search of a place to sit. Other than that, great!

I was amazed to see this dance. They performed 4-5 episodes of Ramayana and it was done beautifully with all dedication. Traditional Balinese ballad done beautifully. The background music was created by humming and sounds made by a big group of men and it only escalated the performance. I love to know about local dance and music l, local culture... More

Purchase your ticket for 75,000 IDR and enter through to the open air temple courtyard where benches are set up. Make sure you read the pamphlet provided prior to the show, as you'll be a bit lost as to what's going on during the performance. The performance was fantastic and the costumes vivid.

there is some wrong review here as this performance was done in a theatre hall which allow you to watch without concern the weather compare to the one in uluwatu. I think some visitor need to make sure they make a correct review as some are wrongly to referring uluwatu to this place. good performance from the dancer with delicate... More

Watched the Kecak show at Pura Dalem in Ubud. The Kecak dance was actually invented in the 1930s by a German. It was entertaining as they chanted hypnotically as monkeys around a fire, while classical dancers acted out scenes from the Ramayana in the middle. At the end, all the "monkeys" moved to one side and they lit a big... More
