When we first arrived at the dance theatre, we were greeted with a picture with one of the traditionally dressed women, flowers for our hair, and a well-appreciated English translation of the play so we could follow along. Balinese dancing is theatric, colorful, bright, and engaging. A great classic story of good and evil that was appreciated by the audience... More

The ticket price is very reasonable for the show. It is an interesting insight into the culture of bali. The show does seem to drag on. There are some comical bits. There was a real odd bit at the end of the show. An offering was made by one of the actors at the front of the stage. In the... More

Barong Dance performance at Batubulan. I had been here in April and luckily there was no rain. So this show basically describes the fight between good and evil. The show started at 9.30 am and continued till 10.45 am. after 45 mins or so the show started getting a little boring. Though the music was unique and good. If you... More

While it's not bad, but you don't feel the authenticity, place itself is nice with good seating arrangement so you get full view no matter where are you seated. Act and dance is ordinary nothing great, we went for 930am Legong dance and ticket was nominal 100k per person. Still not bad, can be seen.

It rained, so the show was moved next door to the temple. The costumes and dancers were awesome! My only negative comment would be that the show is too long. It last about two hours, which is a long time for children and the elderly. Plus there is no AC, so it pretty warm and humid.

We actually went to the Barong dance in Batubulan where they specialize in this type of traditional dance and theatre. It was an incredible outdoor traditional theatre with amazing costomes, dancing and singing. There was also a gamelan (traditional instrument) orchestra playing along. My partner and I enjoyed this experience very much and fell in love with the mythical creature... More

Visited as part of our tour and I'm glad we did. The show is about good and evil and them battling. The dancing and acting was entertaining the musicians tune will stay in your head all day. Seeing this show helps makes other thing around Bali make sense.

I was almost put off by all of the negative reviews about this show and I am SO glad my boyfriend insisted that we go, it was just beautiful. The venue changes every night and we paid 75,000 for our tickets. You get given a sheet of paper when you get the tickets that explains exactly what you're watching (make... More
