The monkey forest is a great place to chill out and escape the heat and hustle and bustle for a while. Entry is 40k IDR and there is no need to take a tour, just roll up and buy your ticket and walk on in. Monkeys galore and you can buy bananas to feed them if you want, the scenery... More

My boyfriend and I went into the town of ubud to have a look around and came upon the monkey forest. Definitely something to do to say you've done it but nothing to rave on about.

Up close and personal (sometimes TOO personal) with the monkeys. They were on our heads, shoulders and swinging from my wife's skirt! My advice: buy a few small bananas and come early. Make sure that you hide and secure anything that you don't want the monkeys to grab. One grabbed a brochure that I had in my pocket that was... More

This was such a beautiful experience! Strongly advice you to visit it while you're in Ubud and after you enter the gate, take some time to read the rules. It was a fun day, we took lots of pictures and hanged out with the monkeys. It wasn't very crowded so we enjoyed some areas just for ourselves. Make sure your... More

While we were on a fast moving tour of Ubud and surrounding areas, this was one stop where we could have just turned into a day event. Watching the monkeys play around was so much fun, feeding them and have them interact with us was even better!

If you are staying in Ubud, certainly do make a stopover. It's a nice park, you can walk around, take pictures while monkeys run, climb and jump around; you do get the feeling you are at the heart of the jungle. Always remain vigilant since the monkeys can get agressive, even if they are used to visitors, they remain wild... More

The monkeys are very cute but some of them are pretty naughty. They climb on you if you get close to them and they also want anything you have on you, jewelry, glasses and so on. So you'd better have no accesories, when going at the monkeys. Be careful with your backpack as well because they try to open any... More

Monkey forest is a peacefull place early morning when there is not so many tourists. Lots of monkeys obviously but they are not agressive until you transport foods. The walk is nice and not so hot.

I was impressed by this forest, don't know why I didn't go there last year. But only got 30min before the heavy rain started. But some parts of the forest is just like a fairytale. I can recommend it, very cheap entrance too.
