Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked with this more official place because it was recommended in a website. The tour was at best average ; the driver was terrible, bordering on dangerous. He was also unfriendly. Would it recommend. We had many other tours that were better, and much less expensive.

On Wednesday, when we enquired, The man at the counter told us about Kura Kura bus from Ubud to Seminyak but not that it needed booking ahead. We only read it on the piece of paper that is on front counter display the day before we wanted to book and had by then missed the spots available (we came on Saturday to book for a Sunday bus)but didn't take note of it properly on Wednesday (so this was our mistake). So please book ahead at least 2 days or better, many days ahead if you want a spot on the Kura Kura bus. Also there is a difference between what the Tourist Info can tell you - which is official taxi prices, and what you get from private drivers/ touts. I agree that official taxi is safer so as not to get ripped off in paying money for a trip (see forum under SCAMS) but then it is often more expensive (can be 20% more) for a trip than if you organise a tout to take you from Ubud to Seminyak (this happen when we missed spots on Kura Kyra bus). Thus, we found the Tourist Information knowledge is of limited use and have rated them at 3/5

We have some very bad experience in getting a grab car or goteck car at the tourist area like the monkey forest or the Ubud palace or market. Grab or Gojek cars are not allowed to pick up passengers leading to no choice but to get a “taxi” from agents on the streets. However these agents asked for sky high price which is around 10 times that of grab or Gojek. We chosen to walk outside these area in order to get a grab car or Gojek car.
We appreciate the respect to locals for taxi business but not rule out competitive choices like grab or Gojek. Furthermore the quoted sky high price is some form of robbery.
As a tourist we perceive these practice of protecting locals is somewhat mysterious and the under-meaning of these malpractice is not difficult to guess.
We won’t come to Ubud again.

I booked a tour to Mt Batur at this desk. I thought when paying that perhaps the price was more expensive as it would be a better quality tour, I was wrong. I found out from others on the trip that I paid double what they had paid. The guide left two of us at the top so we had to find our own way down in a hurry - worried that the bus would leave without us. Once we found her when we got to the bottom we realised she'd ditched the whole group and there were still others somewhere on the mountain. A stressful and overpriced trip.
I tried to complain to get my money back but the man strangely lost his ability to speak English so I gave up and accepted the loss.
1 star for teaching me a valuable lesson on my travels that price paid does not dictate quality received.

Unfortunately we learned that we payed too much for our tour when we booked it in the Tourist Information (a standard tour out of the cataloge). The other two members of our tour group payed only half of the price, they booked it in the hotel.

We stopped by the tourist office today to pick up maps and take in some information of the local area, but the office is closed and under renovation at least until after the upcoming holiday.

I went with a new friend on this tour. The driver knew a little English but we managed to understand each other a bit. He drove us from 10am until about 7pm that we got back to the tourist information office!!! I suggest you bring some water and snacks as well as comfortable clothes and shoes if you are doing #9 mostly for the rice terraces because although it was fairly easy, we took the 2 hour road and it was tiering!! My favorite part was the rice terraces! These tours are worth taking if you have little time and want to “see” a lot of the places. I only took this one tour and the rest did on my own and with new friends! Bali is lovely!
Unfortunately I erased the pictures of the tour, but you can find them on my Facebook Upekkhapr Sylvia Fernandez p
This was more of a great driver than a guided tour. Guided tours are much more expensive.

We went quite few times to the tourist information and every time we got the "right" answer but it seemed to us that we were disturbing them.
Shouldn't a tourist information be all open and friendly and welcoming everyone with any question? That's what they are there for, to answer all dumb questions and be nice to all visitors. Do something else if you are annoyed by tourist questions.

This is the place for wide and general information on what is happening and where to find transport to take you to different locations around Ubud. There is an adequate and clean public toilets adjacent. Take small money with you as it costs 3000 Indonesian rupiah to use. It has men and women rest rooms
