Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were pleasantly surprised when we visited the "Klenteng Eng An Kiong". What a beautiful temple .. especially the interior impressed us a lot. This temple is one of the oldest buildings in Malang. The main temple was built in 1825, in the period 1895-1934 the remaining pavilions were built. The Eng An Kiong temple is a so-called Tridharma shrine. Three religions are worshipped here, namely Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Again .. the interior with its many altars is beautiful! This temple is of course part of the protected cultural heritage of Indonesia. The praying people in the temple are very welcoming, greet you kindly and are proud that Westerners come to watch.

I was amazed by the candles. I was caught there in a storm and the people were really friendly. I spent some time sharing a meal and communicating with my English and their Indonesian.

This temple is located away from the city center so I had to pay 50,000 rupiahs to my pedjak driver.

It is a small, but well-maintained Buddhist Temple with several small rooms that have different statues. At the Main Hall, the Guard asked me complete their Visitors' Log.

I was the only visitor during my visit so I took my time admiring the beautiful statues, colorful lanterns, Dragon Statue, etc. Took a lot of pictures too.

Tip: Take the ojek or shared motor cycle when visiting this attraction, I was quoted 25,000 rupiahs only instead of the 50,000 rupiahs I paid my pejak driver. Enjoy your visit!
