Stunning Mosque with brilliant light reflections from the waters, worth a visit for photo lovers. Take a evening stroll around this vibrant area and enjoy the scenery.

Loved praying here

It's a lovely mosque. Very picturesque, on the water. You need to stow your shoes on racks, where you have to pay. It's not much, but still rather surprising that you have to pay. But I learnt that this is common here. You have to pay for pretty much everything - even leaving shoes in the shoe racks!

”Floating” Mosque
Sep 2018 • Solo
Rising above the sea at the southern end of Pantai Losari, this futuristic twin-domed house of worship (constructed using concrete piles driven into the seabed) is known as the ‘floating mosque’. Visitors of all faiths are welcome. Built in 2009, it can accommodate 500 worshippers, and enjoys fine coastal views. The landscaped area around the mosque is the place to break the daily fast during Ramadan. There are lots of locals promenading at sunset and attending the mosque for Maghrib (18.01), and Isha (19.10) prayer.
I’ve googled the significance of the mosque name- Amir al-Mu’minin is historically a title bestowed on ‘leaders of believers’ (as a form of respect and identity for these leaders) from the time of the Prophet Mohammed.

A photogenic mosque
May 2018 • Solo
If you go down to Losari at night when all the action is happening then go a bit early and see this Mosque. A great photo opportunity day or night.

Trip and pray
Aug 2018 • Family
Amazed with the view. Come to this place before 6pm and you can enjoy the sunset. It’s quiet tired for women because you have to pray on the second floor.

Good for seeing sunset
Jun 2018 • Solo
It's in Losari area, the best area to see sunset in Makassar. You can see the beauty of this mosque when the sun downs. The gold sunlight appears behind the mosque and it creates silhouette of it. It's beautiful!
