Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

2 hours ride from Manado by car.
Entry ticket price is very cheap for local tourist, around IDR 5k to 7.5k but need extra money for the ranger fee which is not written on the price list.
The place is huge with so many plants and animals. It is a huge jungle, so prepare your comfortable shoes, long trousers, camera, flashlight, foods, water bottle etc. Oh and don't forget to bring your cash.
Tarsiers usually live in a tree with holes and can be find around 6pm when they are looking for foods. We arrived there at 4pm, the perfect time to start looking for tarsiers. You will forget all your fatigue when you meet them.
There are some home-stays outside the park if you want to spend couple of days there for morning and night hike.
Note: please take care your trash and respect the wildlife :)

If you travel with kids, make sure you have insect repellent to avoid mosquitoes. This is the only place where you can find Tarsius spectrum around Manado.
Admission fee around 10 euro include local guide (9 hours trip). Bring your own food and drinks.

We got this trip offered at Lumbalumba Diving and were there around lunchtime. The ranger walk with us 5 hours through the jungle and we were able to see many animals and a beautiful nature.
Apes, the smallest ape (very small), snakes, spiders, bugs, birds and so on.
It is a jungle.
You should have definitely some spray to prepare yourself against mosquitoes and a long trouser would be helpful not to get hurt by some plants and spiders wich live near the ground.
It was a beautiful day - just give it a try.

This research station is not really for the visitors. It is located inside the Tangkoko reserve and the main reason for the station to be there is to provide an accommodation for the researchers.
We ran into young University students who stayed at the research station, during our morning search for macaques. These guys pick up a group of monkeys and follow them around, noting their behavior, encounters with other groups, eating habits etc. all day long. As we followed the same group of macaques, we tried to keep a distance from the researchers, as they were not all that happy about our presence.
We were lucky that our guide knew someone inside the station, so we were able to store our snorkeling gear there instead of carrying it around while walking the trails.

The tiny tarsier monkey live here and if you can find a guide take the evening hike to see these little guys waking up for their evening of hunting. We saw about 5 on out trip and lots of birds. During the day you can see the other monkeys that are there.

Great chances to see rare animals and birds. Came from Manado on hired car (rented in Airport). Stayed in Tangkoko guesthouse which is in 2 mins walking from the park entrance. Park entrance 100000 for foreigners full day. Morning walk guide 200000 per 1 person. This highly recommended: we saw tarsiers, hornbill, other birds, and black macaques. Evening walk to tarsiers going for night hunting (100000 per person) not to be missed also (though every group is coming to the same tree). And during a day time (between forest walks) we relaxed at Tangkoko beach in reserve itself: beautiful corals, Black macaques on the beach and a family of rare cuscuses at the tree next to the beach. Awesome place!

Very nice national park with many paths. Take a guide and they know where and how to spot the birds and other animals.
Take mosquito repellent and water with you. Camera with tele lens and a binocular

Long walk so you don't see much, the guide really isn't great, no explanations, just there to take your money, go on your way
