The place is clean enough with the maintained evidence of the WW2 events such as the dug wall, the observation post for Japanese soldier during the war, and the guides are experienced much in explaining the cave.

We loved walking around these tunnels. There weren't any English speaking guides available when we arrived, but inside the tunnels we met a guide who told us a bit more about the history. A lot of mysteries still unsolved, very interesting.

Cave is quite big. with well lit. There is not enough sign about where to go especially the exit. it seemed that it was made like that so guests would use the service of a guide. So, if you don't want to use guide, take...More

A fine example of war history and human endurance! Well worth the experience, be sure to get an English speaking guide though. Without a guide, would be an injustice unless you can converse in Bahasa...

The history is rich, but there are much to be done to improve the Japanese caves. There are so many unnecessary items left in many corners in the caves, and that became an eyesore after walking for quite some time. I will not visit again....More

Visit then is quiet interesting especially at last moment because less people and time of the dinner around 6-7 pm , the best time to explore the caves in silence and make some horror scenes if u like taking photos or videos :)

The Japanese Cave in Bukittinggi is not all that interesting because apart from the cave there isn't all that much to see. Also there are a lot of steps to climb down and then up again, so it really isn't suitable for people with young...More

Visited the Japanese Caves on my visit here. It was interesting to see how he caves were built so far underground. Would have been more fun if understood a little of history. There were a group with a local quote which would have been good.
