Nice view from top of the hill

You can have a best view if you see it from Puncak Lawang or Lawang Park. When the wheather is nice the view is even more beautiful.

With only a few guest houses in Maninjau village you have great views and nice nature all around the lake.

We drove from Bukittinggi to Matur to capture the view from puncak lawang. Amazing view from all angle. Just stop by one of those little stalls by the ridge and capture the great view.

its a beautiful lake, but the waters smell is so anoying, to foul maybe because this lake used by local people breeds fish in cages.

You can reach it from Padang via Bukittinggi. You'll be served by beautiful scenery along trip. But, if you want to enjoy the lake directly, you should access it from Padang Via Lubuk Basung. I like the smail snail of Maninjau called Pensi. It's delicious.

In addition to Puncak Lawang, Kelok 34 is obviously tge most picturesque point of view if you want to take pictures or just sit, have a warm noodle plus a cup of tea, and enjoy the majestic lake. Looking down from Kelok 34, you will spot a vacant traditional minang house by the lake. Breathtakingly beautiful...

It's a beautiful lake near the famous kelok 44. The scenery is superb. Don't forget to stop to enjoy the view of the lake from above the hill. It's safer if you don't go uphill afterwards because it can be rather dangerous. Just take another route downhill.

We travelled to Lake Maninjau before we arrive at Buya Hamka's museum. Although the road is narrow and zig zag, we had a good driver. The lake's view is best from afar. If you travel with travel agent, make sure that visit to the lake is in your itinerary.

Simply beautiful .... a must visit ... Windy but nice cold weather ... you could enjoy different scenery in one place ... lake, mountain, and forest. It really feels like you are in Swiss but hey it is Bukittinggi ....
