The Nalaga'at ("please touch" in Hebrew) nonprofit center is a stage for arts and culture that promotes an equal dialogue and leads to social change, with the belief in the human spirit and its ability to touch and to make a difference. The center is home for: - Nalaga'at Theater - home to the only deaf-blind theater groups in the world. - Blackout Restaurant - where blind and visually impaired waiters accompany the guests to a meal in total darkness. - Kapish Event Center - where deaf and hearing impaired waiters invite the guests to communicate in sign language. - Workshop Center - glimpses to the world of deaf and blind people through once in a lifetime experiences.

On a recent tour of Israel we attended Not By Bread Alone at the Nalagaat Center in Tel Aviv. This is a troup of deaf and blind actors who act lives challenges of living with these disabilities. Loved the performance both in terms of acting and message. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a unique and meaningful experience.... More

a "must go"! you can really understand what is to be a blind person, all with grace and accompanied by a blind man all along the experience. theres the resturant in wich you eat in the dark, you can see anything - that the most unique resturant i've been in my whole life.

Unique, special, fantastic... all are correct and can hardly describe the place. Deaf AND blind actors preform in a theatre show that is to be found only in Jaffa. It's a must, a visit to Tel Aviv isn't complete without going to the NALAGAAT Center. Go go go !!!

Amazing experience of another's life. Be prepared. Be open minded and you'll enjoy it. The staff is friendly and the menu is just wonderful. Dont be shy and talk to the staff members to know more about the place and themselves. If you are afraid - go for the coffee shop, leave the restaurant for the nest time. And dont... More

The Nalagaat centre was an interesting and amazing experience it was great to see such an amazing group of people perform and learn about their obstacles and difficulties in life. The show is a moving but at times intense experience.

This was unexpectedly an amazing experience. You get served by deaf wait staff who teach you sign language. The show not throuh bread alone about the actors dreams and frustrations amd gives youna new perspective on life

The show was fun and informative. The "deaf show" introduces you to another mode of communication. It shows you how much hard it can be to communicate with signs. My favorite part was coming up with signs for our names.

This center offers two types of restaurants, one with deaf waiters who patiently help you learn basic sign language and one with blind waiters where the food is ordered/served in pitch blackness. After dinner there is a show put on by the deaf/dumb/blind actors through translators and written words on screens in several languages. Teaches those more fortunate that even... More
