The old city has a few places of interest, and offers a good opportunity for a short walk next to the shore and port.

This area should be on your top 2 list of things to see, old architecture and history of the place is just awesome - do read wikipedia so many things make more sense while you are in the spot.

For a country like Israel, with so many historical sites, this one is in the middle of the pack. I gather that it's in the process of being developed more for tourism. I didn't go to the Museum and perhaps that would have made a...More

If you walk along seafront in the right direction any way you'll reach old town. Great place for light walking without any aim just to enjoy atmosphere and step by step notice zodiac statues, big clock tower, tiny shops with nice staff and so on....More

From the historic port to the clock tower, this seaside town is full of lovely sites. I particularly enjoyed waking through the flea market and eating a delicious meal at Puaa!

Exploring the narrow streets and beautiful terraces was the highlight of our first day in Tel-Aviv. We travelled with our teen grandaughters who enjoyed it too.

If you keep kosher, then the only open restaurants are in the better hotels; If you do not keep kosher then there are lots of places open - in Jaffa we like 'Hazakan v'HaYam' (translates as 'Old Man and the Sea')
