this place not only a church. this place let you think who people/ monks live in the past inside the rocks! and from this place you can see general overview for Jericho and Jordan behind it. you can using cable car for about (15 eur)...More

It says that they close at 2pm. We rode the cable car, walked up to the monastery (a little steep) and got inside the monastery at least 20mins before 2pm. However, we were turned back by an old monk being assisted by his caregiver (?)...More

Kathy nailed it...the walk is reasonably steep but manageable. You can stop along the way as the view is breathtaking (pardon the pun...).

También se puede acceder al monasterio por un camino que contorna toda la montaña sin subir al teleférico. De hecho es utilizado por muchos peregrinos!
