Hashomer (The Watchman) was the forerunner of the Israel Army, established secretly under Turkish and then British rule in what was Occupied Palestine until its liberation in 1948. A well designed museum worth visiting next to Kfar Giladi(within walking distance).

The Hashomer Museum at Kibbutz Kfar Giladi has a modern, multi-media presentation of the history of the Hashomer, the pre-state defense organization The Visuals are modern, allowing the visitor of gain the background in a logical and chronological order.

This tour gave us the history and background of the Hashomer organisation and how the helped establish the settlements in the Upper Galilee a century ago, and how they merged into the later defence movements.
