Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited the Jordon River Valley with our tour group. A few of us had renewed their baptism as one of them is a minister. It was a sacred experience.
Along the river, there are plagues of Mark 1, 9-11 in different languages, There is also a souvenir store which asked for inflated price.

The Jordan River runs from Galilee sea to the Red sea, and separates Jordan and Israel. This is the river where John the Baptist baptized Jesus and the holy spirit descended upon him from heaven. The river is narrow and shallow, you can walk across and reach Jordan. Many people were wearing white robes and being baptized there. I did not, I just dipped my hands in it. If you are on a Holy-Pilgrimage tour, this is a must stop. I give it my GoldnAdvice seal of approval.

This is were we had our renewal of baptism. You have to bring extra clothes if you’d like to have a deep for your renewal . There are for rent swimsuits but better bring your own because it’s costly if you’ll rent there including slippers and towel. Using of shower and toilet has fee also it $1.00 (US ) for two persons.
There shop where you can buy some food and souvenirs.

It was a great spiritual baptism experience in the Jordan River. It is one of a kind to go with a tour group on pilgrimage. The Jordan River flows from the Sea of Galilee into the Dead Sea, the Jordan River Baptismal Site also known as “Bethany Beyond Jordan” or the Yardenit Baptismal Site) is one of the world's most important sites of Christian pilgrimage. It's where John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ. Thankful' that I finally reached the place where Jesus got baptized.

This is a great place to get baptized in the Jordan River. They provide a towel and a robe to wear over your bathing suit to be baptized. Our group had our own preachers with us and we conducted our own baptismal. It was very moving, while not the exact spot Jesus was baptized it was close enough.

The Sea of Galilee empties into the River Jordan near here as it begins its path Southward toward the Dead Sea. It is close to the river's mouth that John performed a Baptism on Jesus. Granite steps and railings lead down to the river where current day baptisms occur on a regular basis. The river is very narrow (more like a creek in this country than a river) and has ducks, geese and swans swimming around in the area or begging for cracker crumbs from the visitors. One side of the river is Israel and the other side, Jordan. If you go through the ceremony, you will receive a certificate certifying that you have been baptized. This place is revered by all Christians.

Doing the "tourist" piece of our trip, we stopped by and were in awe of the beauty of this amazing place. It is so peaceful. Souveniors are inexpensive (I recommend buying anything religious from here as opposed to Jerusalem - dollar goes further here) People were friendly. Be mindful though....go the washroom before this pitstop...you pay to use the facilities.

The site is not the recognized area of Yeshua haMashiachs/Jesus Christ baptism. A money racket for sure. They not only charge for the baptism rental gown($10),but the bathrooms are not free to use if you are not getting baptisted. Also the gift shop prices are inflated above local prices in the region for the same products.Good selection of religious/Christian/Catholic items to purchase.

I will be in Jerusalem in April 2018. Has anyone gone during this month to tell me about the water temp? 2) I will be traveling alone so can anyone recommend a tour I can join from Jerusalem which includes someone to do the baptism? Thank you ..

Jerusalem is the wettest region which gets the most rain year all year long. The water in the Dead Sea is cool but refreshing, but wear water shoes as the salt crystals will tear your feet, because they are razor shape. The Sea of Galilee water is cool. The Jordan river water is not bad, but looks muddy, but is okay for baptisms. There's a Information centre at the site where Jesus was baptized. We went in November 2017. Tours can be arranged through your Hotel. We went through a Travel place called Christian Journey's which operates out of Ontario Canada their phone # is 1 877 465-3442 You will enjoy your time there. I find I would want to go for a longer time next time going. There's a lot to take in. Enjoy!
