We went to Le Jardin du Roi on a half rainy day. It is a paradise on the hills near Anse Royal on the East Coast of Mahé. Not easy to find, ideally check on Google Maps: we missed it the first time around. There...More

We certainly enjoyed visiting the garden, which is beautitful but we were chocked by the inhospitality of the lady (owner?) manager, who seems to run the restaurant. Furthermore most dishes on the menu were not available. We sat at a table, she came to us...More

As the restaurant was full while we waited for a table we spent an hour or so rambling through the extensive and beautiful gardens. So many exotic plants, spices, flowers, orchids trees etc many marked with name plates which helped ID them. Really worth visiting....More

I spent a morning here with family and it was very relaxing. The views were excellent and the little cafe was fine.

We went there for lunch on a public holiday, towards the late-end of lunch service. The setting is awesome. Sat within a tropical garden, on top of a hill with amazing views, the restaurant was bathed in a cool tropical breeze. A lovely place to...More

We had a lovely few hours here. The gardens are packed full of unusual specimins which are clearly well tended and many of which were fruiting. We had salads for lunch and it was superb

The gardens are superb, immaculately kept and with great views down to Anse Royale. They are a cut above the botanical gardens in Victoria. After we visited them we went for lunch to the restaurant and had excellent fish served simply but beatifully. Highly recommended.

I would give them a "good" rating if it were available. My husband expected to be bored and he found it interesting. He felt they put a lot of work into it and had good information available. I expected a nice hike in a beautiful...More

Fascinating place with amazing trees and flowers. Some bamboo trees up to 20 meters high, I guess. I saw one of the most amazing birds, called a cardinal;, I believe: an orange color I had not seen except on the Amazon river. The houses and...More
