One of Seychelles' two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, this ancient forest is home to the wondrous Coco de Mer palm, which has the largest seed in the world, and many other birds, plants and reptiles, many of which are found nowhere else in the world. Visiting the Vallee de Mai is a step back in time and a unique experience.

Yes 350SCR can seem pricey for the entrance fee but it is worth it and for a good cause as the tour guide explained that half of the money goes back towards the world heritage sites of Vallée de Mai and Aldabra Atoll.  Highly recommend...More

Very beautiful place to visit. We didn't use a tour guide as we were informed by other tourists that it wasn't necessary. The walk took around 30 minutes. Bus stop at entrance was convenient.

You really do feel at the beginning of time as you meander through this place. The story of the Coco de Mer tree and its nuts are uniquely Seychelles. Try to go with a guided group, our guide was excellent.

We visited Mai Nature Reserve to see the famous Coco De Mer (the price of which, can be around 600 euro!). We drove to this place by car, as the park provides large parking space for free. We then took a guided 1 hour tour,...More
