Great 2-3 h adventure. To see the giant turtles was really cool. They have also nice beaches to hang at. It's a short hike to another beach, not really a hike it's a path the whole way. Recommended trip to go there especially for the...More
The island is really stunning and beutifull. There is many turtles all over the place, some of them is huge. We spend almost one hour before walking to the other beach for dinner. The walking to the other site was no problem for us, but...More

We took a day trip to the island combined with snorkeling at St. Pierre. The tortoises are totally tame and perhaps even "too" used to the tourists. No signs of stress were observed, but once wonders if this is really what a wild animal wants/needs....More
We went with a rubber boat to the island, therefore we landed just at the beginning of the sand. A bit of wet feet. Not really difficult other than to jump out of the rubber boat with the help of the other people.

I recommend you go on an organized tour, e.g. we went with Ziblo. We were brought there, they gave us background information and then we were "let lose" to discover the island on our own, so we went on an easy hike (if memory serves right, I think it was 60-90 minutes). We met our organizers on another beach on Curieuse where they prepared lunch while we relaxed on the beach.
We were in a very small group (which is exactly what we wanted, it was two of us and another family, so we were 6 people.
