Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent service and food! This is a very neat little place in downtown Albany. We started with the Charcuterie board. It was one of the best I have ever had. We also had the hummus and it was very good as well. Two of us had the grilled chicken sandwich. I had mine as it is on the menu. It was great! My daughter ordered hers without cheese but I believe added avocado. Hers was excellent as well. Our other guest had the "Thanksgiving every day" meal. It was also wonderful, and a ton of food. The drinks were good as well. Great experience!

It's a nice spot to gather if you're in the area but it's usually very busy in the evenings and can be quite loud between the amount of people and how loud the music usually is. Interesting menu selection that may not appeal to everyone.

An eclectic mix in here on a Thursday evening. Good knowlegable staff and a decent selection of beers made this a place worth a visit if you are passing. The building is beautiful with good acoustics and no intrusive background music so you can hear your conversation.
The crowd was a bit odd with lots of young intern types fawning over politicos in suits. Made me feel a bit awkward and think of "That's Me" but they all seemed happy enough.
Didn't try the food but what I saw looked decent bar food.
I think the city has better offerings if you have the time to explore no fundamental issues here

Great building inside and out, interesting table setup inside, large picnic tables with benches. not super fancy, but nice. Great Hamburgers and fries, neither of us drink beer, so no opinion there. A mimosa came with my meal and it was lovely. We visited at lunch time..

The beer list is incredible. They have lots of interesting, tasty, unique beers from all over the U.S., and some I have rarely seen in NY. When you buy a pint, you get a free little pizza! Not bad!
The food was ok-- the caramel corn was a bit strange, but the brussel sprouts and pickle plate were delicious. Plus, it's in a super cute building. The three of us drank, ate (and had leftovers), all for $50, so it was reasonable to boot!

This is such a cool place. Lots of Great beer on tap and the food was excellent. Can't wait to go back. The bartender was very respectful and accommodating. The architecture alone is worth visiting here. Great first time experience. Going back for pint and a pizza soon!!!

A pleasant surprise that made my night. As a first time visitor to Albany I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of food availability. I took a shot in the dark and wandered into the City Beer Hall. This Historically charming hipster hang out was deliciously fulfilling while aesthetically pleasing. A mixed crowd of business professionals, couples and of course hipsters co-mingled at group sized tables. A fine list of craft beers is more than enough to choose from without being overwhelming. Prices are a bit high per drink but then again this isn't your average selection. To accompany your brewed beverage is a complimentary pizza straight from the kitchen. It's not often if ever you can walk into the kitchen and grab your own pie. In addition to the pizza I ordered the wings. They were done to perfection. They slow cook them to tenderness, then flash fry them and give them a nice ginger coating to make for a wing that falls off the bone, is filling and fully of flavor. The staff was friendly, not pretentious, and great at giving suggestions. I'm looking forward to dining here again on future visits.

Awesome. Totally casual and fun. You can stay downstairs in front of the bar or fire place or you can go upstairs and ride the bull. They have cocktail tables and others that seat 2,4,6,8 and more. So no matter what your group size is there is a place for you here. Best of all, and I don't know how it works, as you buy your drinks they give you coupons for a free pizza. How can you go wrong?

Extensive beer selection- a lot of local choices.
Bold choices of mixing genres of foods:
Kim chi Greek pickles??? Great
Hot pepper pineapple??? Great
Oh, and complimentary pizza!
Long picnic tables. Might sit with strangers-which is cool
