This was the first stop when arriving in Busan. The exhibitions provided great knowledge and insights into the culture and history of Busan as well as Korean history in general. The exhibitions were clean, easy to follow with clear English explanations. The admission is free...More

I am glad and thankful that we were given the time and resources to visit Busan Museum. It was enriching for us, especially for my teenage son. The place was huge and so welcoming - no restrictions, free entry. We got pretty good photos as...More

I have found little history in Busan predating the Korean war. It is almost as if all that was lost. This isn't a huge museum and parts are still being renovated, but between this and the Maritime musem, which is a national museum, I feel...More

Pretty small musuem detailing Busan's history with free admission. OK for a 30 minute trip but you might be better off hitting a shopping area or the Busan Musuem of Modern Art if you want something more time consuming.

Unfortunately most of the exhibition halls were closed during my visit. But the museum has no admission fee and the park with some statues behind the museum is quite nice. Staff was friendly, information in english and chinese was available.

A museum is not one of the major attractions in Busan and history is probably not what a lot of visitors are here for, but if you have time, the Busan Museum has a nice collection that shows the history of the city and in...More

Arrived at the time when part of the exhibition is undergoing a 12+ months renovation. The part that remains is relatively small, but decently spaced and signed (with English). Can be done in 20 minutes. Next door to UN Memorial Cemetery ("next door" is a...More

While the museum had very nice grounds to walk around, it was lacking in substance. There were a few rooms with pottery and jewellery from prehistoric times through to the Goryeo dynasty. However, half of the museum was closed and will not open until the...More

It was free entry, and I wondered why. Later I realised that a large part of the museum was closed for rebuilding, and that probably explained it. The few galleries that were open had some old sepia photographs of the city but little else. The...More
