Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Great beach until 6pm, then a random group of "Marshall's" patrolled the shore blowing whistles making everyone get out of the water.
I've never seen anything like it.
Completely bizarre, something I'd expect from North Korea.
I'll never come back here, worst beach experience ever.

This beach is underrated and it shouldn't be. Unlike the popular Gwangalli and Haeundae beaches, this one offers a fountain light and musical shows at 7pm. Although the journey to this beach is far but for this fountain show, it is worth it. Take the Busan subway line 1 (orange) and get off at Sinpyeong Station, exit 4. The bus stop is walking distance from the exit and take buses 2, 11, or 338 from there. Get down from the bus at Daewoon Apts (Bus No. 338) or Dadaepo Beach (for Bus No. 2) and walk towards the beach to catch the fountain shows. Plenty of chairs around the fountain to watch the show and a large heater will be turn on just near the toilets to warm your hands afterwards.

Dadaepo is our favorite beach in Busan because it feels real! We love Haeundae Beach & Gwangalli, which are near our home, but there is a manufactured feel to them. You don't get that with Dadaepo. We arrived just as the sun was setting, and it's one of our most cherished sights in Busan so far. We are looking forward to heading back during the day. There are a couple of other things besides the beach here. First and most famous is the Sunset fountain, and the main reason we made the trek to Dadaepo from Haeundae area. Let me tell you it is a trek, if you take public transportation, either the bus or subway, you can expect about a 2 hour trip. But I will say the subway is way more comfortable since most bus drivers in Busan seem like they are training to be NASCAR drivers. We rode the bus for about 5km before we had to exit to the subway from the sustained whiplash we experienced. Anyways, Sunset fountain was really fun, it's nothing too crazy, but still it's just a good time and something to do on a Friday Night. Both my wife and I enjoyed it, and afterwards they turn the fountain on low and the Korean kids loose there cookies and just go bazerk in the water! It's pretty hilarious! The park around Dadaepo is pretty awesome too! It's well maintained and seems like there are lots of routes, we will definitely be back, but will account for more time for us to explore.

This beach is barely mentioned anywhere and I think it's underrated.
There is a boardwalk which makes a easy stroll plus seats to rest at viewing platform.
Nice park just before the beach for a stroll and people watch.
We also went to a restaurant near the beach where we had a inexpensive and delicious spicy fish stew.

Introduced to me by a local and I spent a quiet evening there. Has some sculptures and lots of cafes and restaurants so you can grab a coffee or a meal before or after visiting the beach. Worth a visit if you have a few hours free in Busan.

This is a nice calm beach with a big park next to it. Plenty of tree shades and benches if you do not want to walk on the sand. Nice boardwalk next to water. A bit disappointed because the water fountain has stopped performing since beginning of November. But we still enjoyed the beach.

This beach is awesome for people with young children. The water is calm, and by that I mean almost flat, with almost no currents. Another bonus is that you can walk out for quite some distance before it gets deep.
When the tide recedes, the children can search for the tiny crabs that are in abundance there. My kids had a great time watching them, chasing them and picking them up.
The beach is large and not as crowded as Haeundae or Gwangali beaches. It also has a beautiful cliff walk you can take the kids on.
It has plenty of shops and convenient stores near by, and at certain times of the day they have a water fountain/water jet display that the kids can play in. When i went there on a Saturday night, they had a night show using the water fountain with music and lights. The kids really liked it.
In terms of family fun and relaxation, I prefer this beach to Haeundau or Gwangali beach, because its not as crowded and the water is safe to play in for toddlers.
The only downside is that there alot of broken shells in the sand and although my kids never had a problem going bare footed, a pair of crocs might be advisable to wear.

This lovely place is really far from Gwangali and other major beaches in Busan; it took us about 2 hours to get there from Buam subway station. We went first by metro to Sinpyong line 1, and then took bus 2 to Dadaepo Beach (they announce this stop in English, which was very very helpful!). You should know that the beach itself is a bit far from the bus stop: right after Dadaepo Beach bus 2 turns right and goes uphill, but you should walk along the main road (do not turn anywhere) until you see a huge round square (the Dream Fountain). There you'll see and information booth where they don't speak much English but if you say 'Dadaepo', they'll show you the path to the beach. There is a shower (1000 won), a bathroom and taps to wash the feet.
The beach is a sheer delight! We visited it on Wednesday and there were a few people, which is so great after Haeundae where people literally step over you and hit you with these yellow tubes they use when they swim. However the beach is not completely wild so you can still rent a parasol and have something to eat. At low tide you can find many crabs and fish and shellfish along the coast, which I liked a lot since there isn't any in the place where I live. Suprisingly, the water was warmer than on Heaundae and Gwangali. Also, you can stroll along the cliff and take nice pics there.
So I would highly recommend going to Dadaepo if you want to escape from the crowd, relax and feel close to nature.

There is construction going on now to extend the subway but you can walk further down the beach and get away from it--plus if you come on Sunday I'm sure they are not working.
Nice beach with a forest nearby where you can get firewood.

This beach used to be incredible--a huge expanse of empty sand and enough room to be truly alone on the beach.
That was a few years ago.
Now, the beach has been well-discovered, and endless construction projects make it a bit of a nightmare compared to the idyllic place it was. The beach remains, however, somewhat empty, since most people come only to see a choreographed water fountain.

Is Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dream open on November and December 2019?

I’m afraid not. You can see the music fountain shows from April to October coz the temperature of winter here gets lower so that the water can be frozen. However you can see the lighting sculptures instead.

It is very easy to come to Dadaepo. There is Metro subway station no1 which is Dadaepo beach st. Please take subway no.1 any where in Busan and take off at the Dadaepo station. You can find out nature itself and experience different Westend of Busan. Don't forget to take a shot of sunset. Hope to not too late your inquiry.
