Got lucky and found free street parking f as we drove up to the parking deck. The market was crowded with many selections of food stalls and street food. From traditional Korean snack to seafood to dessert, so many affordable choices. Many of the vendors were offering free samples and most of them were pretty good.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 24 December 2023

In the overall, it was a nice experience, even though the prices are not cheaper than the restaurants' ones, there are no free tables and chairs to enjoy the food we bought. I have to say it was not really clean, but still decent, and we had to go to the nearby 24 hours to buy beers. We tried grilled octopus and grilled squid at one of the most popular stand, it was good, but not outstanding. I took a bus from the city center, but even though I told the bus driver where to get off, he didn't tell me when I got off. I had high expectations. But inside, there were many similar looking shops, but the shop run by a young person had a long line and was making efforts to entertain the waiting customers, so I was drawn to it and lined up there. I bought some souvenirs at the sweets counter with a kind clerk, and went back to the hotel. I stopped by a shop selling red bean porridge and abalone porridge, but these were just...

I went to the high school market the first day, and this happened, and the last day I bought tomatoes.
I was excited and bought it because the price was good. I wanted you to pack the box. I wanted you to check it in the box, but the president's okay. I trusted you could buy it.
Foot lights are properly photographed.
Fage's got some juice, and she showed me that she had a bad skin.
There was a difference, but the bottle of almonds that I brought looked like almonds for juice, and I texted and talked, and he bought 45000 almonds, and he got a little bit higher in speech, and he talked about returns, and I didn't say that he would return them, but he was hot and wrong, and I asked him what happened, and he said something else, and he took a little bit of the medication... I'll understand a few of them, and I'm so upset.
Sold once and finished?? I think so.
I tried to give you a little taste...
If you don't give it or give it, it would be a mess.
I can't pay you back, so I'm gonna send you my stuff in package. Many. I'd be grateful if you went directly to the post office and gave me money.
I received this text.
There's no...
Because of these people, I want you to bury others.
I felt completely ruined the last day.

I purchased Hallabong & Red Flavor Half and Half from Gogeun Fruit for 35,000 won, plus 5,000 won for shipping, paying 40,000 won separately and sent it to the mainland. Even though the item had all exploded and collapsed, I took a picture and sent it to them. The response was unfriendly. There wasn't a single word of apology from beginning to end. He sighed as if he was annoyed. He threw 5,000 won into the account as if he was being generous. When I complained over the phone, they gave me another 5,000 won. During the several calls, one time they just hung up without answering.
I don't know how long we argued. He said that the red flavor was more expensive than the Hallabong, but he went against it and calculated the price at 17,500 won each and took a picture, but he concluded on his own that it seemed like he could eat more than half of it. Out of exactly 12 red flavors, only 4 were in good condition... too. It's a vice.
Don't bother other customers.

The night market is lively. The food is a little strong, but delicious.
I recommend eating slowly at the hotel. There is no space to sit and eat.
The portions are so large that one person can finish them all. It's also good to eat while walking around.

This market is a must visit if u are in Jeju. It sells almost everything u nerd to eat along with some souvenirs and cheap clothes. We went in December and it was coincidentally the island's very famous tangerine season where we bought a big box of Jeju's Hallabong tangerines as well Jeju's chocolate / tangerine / strawberry / cactus coated rice snacks. Definetly an important pit stop in your Jeju itinerary.

This is the "MUST" Visit Spot for the Tourists. The Food street serves many Local food (speciality?) Includes of course the LIVE Octopus/Prawns/Abalone....There are many stalls and small eating restaurants. The place is over crowded by Locals and Tourists. The prices from the stalls are more economical than those in restaurants, BUT NO Seats and one has to eat along the walk way !! Try it for the exposure of Korean culture !!

Jeju Dongmun Market is crowded with tourists and there are hardly any Jeju citizens. It’s so good~~ haha.
Since the merchants can't do business, their faces are all glum.
How are you holding on? You have to be kind to get some business.
The goods are not circulated, so the quality is poor. A market where only tourists spend money.

Was looking forward to visit this place. Unfortunately some of the vendors were just plain rude and not friendly at all. Considering it’s a tourist trap, the food stalls were decent but don’t go with kids. The few vendors we actually patronized were so rude to us they took one look at our small kids and told us they had no seats. But we sat down anyway since it was open. They gave us more than what we ordered and ignored us the rest of the time. Stay away from this place( see pics)

Hi...in Dongmun Market, may I know which gate I should go into to buy souvenirs?
Thank you!
Written 17 January 2019
The place is quite big. It has few gates. I entered through gate 3- this is a section of fruits, chocolates, fish and veggies. Better to check their web page to identify the nearest gate coming from your hotel.

How late does this market normally stay open? Just landed in Jeju and wanted to check this out tomorrow night.
Written 3 August 2018
Most of stalls inside this market closes before 6 pm, but some stalls outside opens until 8-9 pm (most stalls are selling snacks at reasonable price, recommended to buy compares with stalls at tourist attraction in Jeju). You should visits Jungang mall near this market to check some night culinary (porridge, korean fried chicken, tteokbokki, seafood restaurant which you can choose your favorite for dine in).

Hi, I will be in Jeju during Chuseok 22-26 September (I bought the ticket without realising that it's Chuseok). May I know if Dongmun market be opened during Chuseok?
Written 14 June 2018
Should be closed for three days during Chuseok

Hi, i am going to Jeju on coming June. Is the market selling any dry small size abalone? Is the price reasonable?
Written 26 May 2018
They have lots of dry stuff there! Didn’t notice the price though. Our best catch was the dried fish ready-to-grill and their coarsely ground chillies!

Written 5 February 2018

Hi, please advise how can i get to Dongmun Market from Jeju International Airport? Taking a taxi or bus will be easier?
Written 13 January 2018
Taking a taxi is normally easier and faster but can cost more. There are also express buses from the airport to most parts of Jeju but the system has been changed since 26 Aug 2017, so you will need to check with Tourist Info or bus stop at airport (outside gate 2, 1F). Fare 2K-4K. Alternatively, you can take the hourly Jeju City Tour bus which covers the main tourist areas from the airport, including Dongmun market, but operation hours are limited from 9am to 6pm. Fare 3K for single trip or 12K all day. Local buses cost 1.2K between 2 stops but you need to walk a bit. Use google map and check with airport information centre for latest info. All buses should now have free wifi.

Hi , I stayed in Jeju back in 1998. At the time when I left I went to a duty free shop and purchased Cheju Perfume. Is there any type of link or other means to try to find out how to buy this perfume
