This is erected for King Taejong Muyeol by his second son King In mum. There is a tortoise carved Capstone with dragons at the Entrance. Worth visiting!

I visited Gyeongju to experience the royal tombs that the city is known for and this one was most educational. The tombs are throughout the city; however, this one has been partially excavated so you can enter. Inside they have showcases of items found within...More

OK we were lucky as we had a guide who works there show us around and explain things to us but even without it's marvelous. It stands in a park full of beautiful trees and you hear the sounds of traditional Korean music.

A very interesting archeological site showing how the Silla rulers were buried and the high quality of their gold work, similar in quality to things that I saw in Xian, China. From the 700's time period.

It is quick stop to cover the tomb and the capstone carved with dragons is supported by tortoise. The grass covered mound is typical for the era of King Muyeol and there are a bunch of these spread in the vicinity of this attraction.

Excuse my ignorance, but when I saw all these "hills" in a gorgeous park, I thought what fun kids would have rolling down them! These "hills" are royal tombs, and NOT to be climbed or walked upon! The building of these tombs was quite incredible,...More

I was overall impressed with the hard working society of south korea and how are they able to make good trade off between local culture and western influence. This different way of Bury people and I heard there was gold also buried there.

All around you will see royal tombs. Big looks like small hill that I didn't realized they're the tombs we are going to see! Inside the Royal Tomb, the view is beautiful as it has a lot of trees with pond and grass all around.
