    Must do!
This trip was perfect for our layover in Seoul. We went on the 5 hour tour that took us to Gyeongbokgung Palace and Insadong Street. The slots online were fully booked when we looked a week prior but we walked up right at 0730 and they were able to get us in. Our guide Jennie was really great to talk to, had a lot of knowledge on the history of Korea and good recommendations for food. I only wish we had more time to visit each place, but that just means I have to come to back to Seoul and explore more. We actually had a minor issue with the bus but Jennie and the team handled it very well, accommodating guests who needed to get back to the airport to catch their flights early. Appreciate all the warmth, hospitality, and attention to detail for an excursion that cost us $3! Thank you Jennie! I wish more airports offered something like this.

Great tour, beautiful temple, and enthralling guide!
Scored one of the FREE tours during my layover and thoroughly enjoyed the charming Brian, who led us on a bus tour compliments of the Seoul Incheon airport FREE transit tour. A dozen of us were plopped on a bus and regaled by guide Brian as we rode to lovely Jeondeungsa Temple, where Brian filled our minds and hearts with stories of Buddist history, and this temple. He knows so much, and answered every question thoroughly. We saw a number of travelers turned away at the airport, since they hadn't reserved a slot, so choose your tour early and get ready for a great experience!.

A great day after a potentially lousy layover day
The tour was the best thing to happen to us on our stopover in Seoul. I had looked into doing some sort of visit to the city I had not been back to since 1988 and only by accident did I find out about this tour. It was not the concept of Free which I liked, but rather the idea of having suggestions from social media of means of getting to the City ( train etc.) or subway ,with us being the foreigners in a less spoken language? Now, arriving at the desk I terminal 1 , we were impressed with how easy it was to arrange the trip in the 3 minutes before departure. Someone the things I liked best The manner in which Jennifer , our guide was very careful in explaining timing of the trip The fact that their was concern for us as in transit passengers, that upon booking a record order of our inbound and outbound flights, and kept a log of our names and terminal stops. Attention to detail regarding restroom and restaurant availability Tags for around our necks to help guides identify us Hand warmers due to colder climate Information regarding the Incheon airport Korean culture centers The fact that this entire operation, front desks all over in 2 terminals, the bus, the guides as well as entry tickets provided for the palace, all for the benefit of in transit traveller's with an extended layover, was very commendable Thank you very much for making a fun short exciting day out of a long and potentially boring layover Elliott Montreal ,Canada

    You Must Do This Tour!
Wow. How great. They even supplied winter jackets. Make sure you get there right at 7 AM. We saw downtown Seoul and even had lunch. Well worth the time to register ahead of time and find out where to go in the airport.

We had a 7 hours stop over in Seoul on our way from Europe to Australia.
First of all: you will not visit Seoul but Incheon City and surroundings.
The Temple Tour: do not expect to see any magnificent asian temple. You will visit a very small temple on a hill in the middle of nowhere. Somehow interesting but also disappointing.
The Old and New Tour is basically a bus ride to a huge shopping center (very modern) but you won't have time to do any shopping. The second part of the tour is a short visit to an old-style building. Spoiler alert: it is not old at all.
Overall: they are well organised. You can leave your hand luggage at their counter and they are friendly.
Take it for what it is: free. Better than spending 7 hours at the airport playing with your mobile phone.

We're connecting through Incheon and was interested in the tour. The online reservation was fully booked weeks ahead of time, so we decided to try walk-in for the remaining 50% of spot.

After landing in Incheon at 4 am, we lined up at Desk 19 in T1 at 7 am to sign up for the Royal Heritage Tour/ Gyeongbokgung (9 - 2 pm). However, the front desk staff said we couldn't participate in the tour because we're not English speaker. This language requirement was not listed on the tour website, and we were surprised by the staff's rude attitude.

Despite us being the first group in the morning at 7 am to sign up, the staff refused to register for us due to our English, and bypass us to sign up people who were behind us. After all the spots were filled, the staff then came back to us and said she could put us on the waitlist.

However, the staff also required us to sign a letter to release the "Free Korea Transit Tour team" of responsibility if we miss the bus. We found it offensive to assume we can't catch the return bus, and the ad-hoc nature of the hand-written letter also seems to indicate the staff was applying this restriction to non-English speaker on a whim.

Finally at 8:30, we were told we couldn't join the tour because there's no spot left. Despite us being the first one lined at 7 am, the staff intentionally gave the spot to English-speaking groups who queued behind us.

I would recommend non-English speaker visitors to Korean to avoid this tour (or outright transfer in a different country). I would also suggest the tour operator to clearly list out this language requirement on your website.

What an absolutely fantastic idea. Offering free cultural tours of the city for people on long international layovers. I went out for a five hour tour and wish I could have done them all! They have a cave tour, palace tour, shopping tour, entertainment, temples and a few others! All different lengths to suit your layover and FREE! Jack was an absolutely amazing host to me! If you have a layover here you absolutely need to do this! Thanks jack!

This airport is totally modern, bright, and efficient. It's easy to get around, and if you have trouble finding a place, there are wandering robots to help you locate them. This is a real paradigm shift from the old Kimpo airport in Seoul. Waiting areas are pleasant and there is the usual variety of airport overpriced restaurants and shops.

I had a 12 hour layover at Incheon Airport and was able to do the “Traditional Tour”. We visited Changdeokgung Palace and time to look around Insadong in downtown Seoul. The tour guide gave a very nice explanation of What we were seeing and a overviewed of Korean food and culture. Definitely a great way to take advantage of a layover.

I am so impressed by Incheon airport for their Transit Tour initiative! The (DMZ) tour I did was concise, enjoyable, informative, on-time and (almost) free. Highly recommend travelers to take advantage of this opportunity, there are many tours to choose from. (Make sure to get the keta visa in advance, almost everyone needs one).

I was able to squeeze in 2 of these FREE tours on my 16+ layover at ICN. The Presidential tour in Seoul (5hrs) and the Petit Shopping in Incheon's Sinpo International Market (3hrs). Both completely free and no solicitation for tips, etc. The reception desk is easy to find in the Arrivals hall at ICN, and the customer service was friendly and quick. They offer bag storage and winter jackets at reception too. The tour guides for each of my excursions, Moon & Rachel were knowledgeable and entertaining. I was the only person on my afternoon tour of the Sinpo Market, so I got the VIP treatment! The tours are very punctual, and allow plenty of time to return to the airport, so no need to worry about being late and missing your flight. In fact, we had very little traffic on both returns, and were checked out of the tour a tad earlier than expected. It does take 30+ minutes to clear customs when returning to your connecting flight, so factor that in when deciding if the tour times work for you. I highly recommend these tours as an easy way to take in some South Korean culture!
