After visiting Seongsan IIchulbong, we took a taxi here and really enjoyed walking the flat coastal trail. It is made of red volcanic ash called “scoria”, and possesses strange rock formations that only show themselves when the tide is low. A good photo spot includes the view of the Candy house. Next to the lighthouse, you can observe the Seonbawi Rock. It is a delight to climb the wooden steps up to the lighthouse and come down by a metallic staircase.
Continuing our walk we soon reached the Glass House designed by renowned architect, Tadao Ando. Here there is Mint cafe on the ground floor and Mint restaurant on the upper floor. We had coffee at the cafe. The restaurant also served coffee after lunch hour to 4 pm but it is more costly compared to that at Mint cafe. Next to this building is the MInt Garden with a huge orange circular structure and a swing in the centre. Many people took the opportunity to take a photo sitting on the swing with Seongsan IIchulbong in the background.
After that we waiting outside this building for the shuttle bus to Pheonix Hotel where we could get a taxi. The timing for shuttle bus is 5 mins, 25 mins and 45 mins past the hour. While waiting for the bus, we discovered the canola field nearby. We could take a photo among the canola flowers with either Seongsan iIchulbong or the lighthouse in the background. Highly recommend this easy coastal walk in the Eastern Jeju and it is free to enter.

The walk along the trail at Seopjikoji was easy and relaxing. You get beautiful views of the coast, there's a Hansel and Gretel like house and a lighthouse. It is mostly flat and suitable for young children and elderly. Children will also enjoy the horse riding activities available. When we visited at sunset, you get a beautiful view of the setting sun. You also get a good view of restaurant Mint which is part of Phoenix Seopjikoji.

When we arrived, we discovered that it was about to close for the night, so we went for a quick walk around and took photos as the sun set. There is a flim site as you walk further in. Probably left there for photo ops for those familiar with the show. There are also some food stalls near the car park area.

A car is essential for discovering the natural wonders of Jeju Island, Seopjikoji is located Southeast of Seongsan. After parking in the small and at capacity carpark we made our way passed a few restaurants to the start of the sealed path which extends along the exposed red volcanic rock coastline. On the day of our visit it was blowing a gale and the path was crowded and congessed making passing difficult and unpleasant at times. Our group took the time go off track and explore Hyeopja Yeondae Smoke Signal Stations from the Joseon period (Special Monument No 23-2). At the end of the trail was a lighthouse.

It’s a nice walk, a bit windy. We walked past the candy house to the light house and all the way past the glass house. It didn’t take too long. We got there around 10am and there’s a large carpark, parking fees was KRW1000.

Seopjikoji plays second fiddle to Sunrise Peak as the popular tourist attraction in Seongsan. I actually liked it a lot better because you can actually get a great look at the Sunrise Peak from Seopjikoji Cape. The two resorts (one of them looking abandoned) on the area is a bit of an eye sore but the eastern end of it has some spectacular views. A picturesque house that was a filming location for a Korean TV show is a popular photo spot along with the lighthouse and the rock formations on the water.

Jeju's seaside has beautiful scenery and you can enjoy the waves crashing on the shore. We visited in early September and the sun was so strong that it burned our skin. But it is very comfortable to have the sea breeze in a cool place.

It was a short hike going up, although it's not an entirely even path. The views are wonderful but not necessarily breathtaking, photos turned out beautiful though. There are a few food stalls nearby. Interesting to try but definitely a place where they expect a lot of tourists. Overall, it was an interesting place to visit.

This attraction is near to Seongsan Ilchulbong and is often overlooked by travellers. It offers an amazing view of the ocean and a unique volcanic coastline. Beaches are dotted with black volcanic rocks. The walk up to the lighthouse is easy and suitable for all ages. Cater around 1 hour when visiting this place.

Located in Cape Seopjikoji of Jeju Island, this place offers you a lovely view of the open sea and some interesting rock formations, especially from the Bangdupo Lighthouse. There's a trail leading to the lighthouse and a few steps. Along the way you'll see an apparently abandoned ginger bread house, some piles of rocks formerly used a smoke or fire signal stations, and a small place for horseback riding. The walk is quite refreshing and easy. Highly recommended!
