I have looked for a bike rental company around Negombo but despite a small number of tourists, most of them ask for too much to rent a bike, they either want a high deposit or a passport or both, or they want a minimum 1 week rental. Sri Lanka Bike Rent as part of Honda Service, they were professional, the bike was checked, deposit low and no hassle at all. I managed to travel around Sri Lanka in a few days and never had any problems with the bike. Thank you!

Lead by a good team, friendly in service and provided a very good bike. I rented for 7 days. They charged 8$ per day with helmet and all documents provided. It was kinda new bike, travelled all around Sri Lanka.
We need to deposit initial 100$ and full payment on the first day. Sunday will be closed but they attend your calls while returning the bike.

For those of you who don't know, you need to mandatorily obtain a Temporary Driving License in Sri Lanka (irrespective if you have an International Driving License).
I contacted Sri Lanka Bike Rent to obtain this Temporary Driving License
The response was prompt. They told me the necessary documentation needed for the license. Once I gave it to them and paid the fees (with a nominal charge), they arranged for the same within 2 working days.
I would recommend everyone who is visiting Sri Lanka and wants to rent a car/bike, to contact them to have your documentation in place to avoid any unnecessary legal problems.
I would also like to add that I was (at that time), interested in renting a motorcycle as well through them. However, since they are based out of Negombo and I was going to be staying way down south, they informed me that I would be paying a lot of money for the pick-up & drop (well they offer that service as well) and it would be in my best financial interest to take a bike locally. This only goes to show that they are genuinely intersted in making a long-standing customer rather than a quick buck.
A special thanks to Ruwanthika who was my contact person at Sri Lanka Bike Rent.

I have hired a bike a week from Sri Lanka Rent Bike. They have authorized Honda dealers and they make sure bikes are in great condition. I have traveled around 1300 kilometer and there was no problem with the bike. People at Sri Lanka Rent Bike are awesome and very friendly. I strongly recommend Sri Lanka Rent Bike for anyone who would like to hire Honda bikes.

Rented a scooter ( as there was not bikes available at that time) for 5 days and after that just texted them to extend my rental. Got a Ok reply.
No hidden charges, No penalty, No discomfort.
This place is a authorized Honda service station, so the condition of the scooter was really good. The price is same like what u get in other places near Colombo / Negombo, but these guys are very open and reliable.
Special thanks to the girl who processed my Licence and rental.

Very unserious and disrespect behavior. I called them day ago ask for availability they told me it will be available next day. And next day before I go I call them again if there is availability they told me yes there is and I should go to them and fill the form and the things. And when I was there suddenly they make a story and blah blah. And that they don’t have scooter available. Then why you bring me there why you waste my time and money to come to there

Sri Lanka Bike Rent offers an outstanding rental experience. I rented a mountain bike for exploring the beautiful scenery around Negombo, and it was in excellent condition. The staff were friendly and made the process quick and easy. Great value for money and highly recommended for anyone looking to rent a bike in Sri Lanka!

Best choice i ever made was renting a bike in negombo for my adventure in Sri Lanka.
Bike rental Sri Lanka was awesome to fullfil this. They were really flexibel with the amount of days and where you can drop off the bike. Awesome!
Really good services, a perfect bike (Honda Navi 110cc) higly recommend this one and a really nice staff.
Thank you guys so much for making my trip amazing. Next time i will definetly come back and drive some more!
