From Xincheng train station you might want to take a cab to bring you to the attractions along the trail which take at least 4 hours and cost NTD2000. At each stop there are some trekking or climbing which is very very tiring but when you reach the top it's really amazing. The whole place is full of rocks and... More

We went there in December for a day trip from Taipei and would like to share our experiences; - Good place to refresh and take a deep breath for yourself - We made one day trip to escape from city life to nature scene (just 2 hours by HRS from taipei main station to Hualien station) - We took private... It is covered by trees and shrubs so it took me time to realize that these were marble mountains ! The road is in perfect condition, places well marked where you get down and take a look or walk through the Swallow Grotto or wear a helmet for your own safety. The shades one sees on the opposite walls as... More

Coming from a city, the mountain range was a sight to behold. It is truly amazing that the highways were laboriously constructed by soldiers in 1955 with many lives lost. We should be thankful to Chiang Ching-kuo and Lin Ze-bin for their brilliant planning and today, many can enjoy this park and the trials easily. Suggest one should get a... More

We took the Taroko shuttle bus from Qixingtan bus stop and it took about 25 minutes to reach Taroko Visitors Centre. It was quite an adventurous journey up as the road is very narrow.

Visited the national park while travelling from wing jing to Hualien , along the road you will be mesmerize by the beauty of nature however if you are driving in the park be careful of falling rock , thick fog and sudden change of weather. And it is not advisable to drive at night as many heavy vehicle are driving... More

I loved Taroko Park. It's so easy to get up the mountain using public buses from Hualien, where I was staying. The bus takes you up and stops at various sites in the park. I used my city bus pass which you scan when you get on and off the buses. There were many fabulous sites here and some great... More

If you're planning to take public transportation to the gorge, it might be better if you rented a car as you'd be able to explore more of the gorge. My partner and I made a day trip from Taipei and caught the early train out to Xincheng. There was a tourist information centre there but it has since closed down... More

A slightly overcast day did not diminish the beauty of this gen of a National Park. Slough we only spent one day along the Taroko Gorge the views were magnificent. Watch out for the aggressive Formosan Macaques in Sioulin Township.

This is a must see in Taiwan. I would definitely recommend you stay for at least two days. The top to get to the park is truly amazing. The accommodation is something very different but also very comfortable. The meal and sow is something you will never forget.
