No english translations, but awesome things

Very interesting place, small though. There were no English translations, but the guides were very helpful in Chinese. Nice to visit on your way to the temple up the mountain.

I wasn't very impressed with the museum part... it was under renovation and looked like it was thrown together in about five minuets in someone's basement. Most of the artifacts' descriptions are in Chinese but a few are in English. The house and grounds were nice. I've been living in Asia for over a year now and I've definitely seen... More

It is housed in an old mansion which gives visitors a good feel of how old Taiwan. The various living rooms, bedrooms, study and kitchen gave one a feel of the day to day lives of the Taiwanese probably from the late 1800s to early 1900s. At the basement level, there were displays of artefacts and hand-painted kites, furniture and... More

I came here with my husband with a local friend. We are impressed with the way the place was well preserved . although the outside was typical local village, but the interior was very impressive and comfortable. We even had a complimentary tea to drink after the long walk, and it was very refreshing to enjoy the fresh air and... More

Meander around the park, look at the turtles and ducks in the pond, get an ice cream. Then go downstairs to the museum. Some of the exhibits have English explanations, many do not. For those of you who have lived in Tw, you know how hard the beds and pillows are. Now I know why: the predecessor of the modern,... More
