Huge museum with beautiful exhibits depicting animals and teaches you about different categories such as history, science. Love the dinosaur exhibits and the life science museum. Forget about the mini zoo as it is really small and showing mainly fishes. Very baby friendly with nice staff who help to navigate and watch over the breastfeeding room. Must go for families... This museum is so great that my children all wanted to visit on each of their return to Taichung even though they being living overseas for 20 years now!

I am extremely pleased with this institution. I am an elderly scientist with 14 degrees including 2MAs and 2 PhDs. I found myself running around in the museum because there are so much to see! The Elephant Fossil was most impressive, reminds me of the Dinosaur Fish at the Maldive Museum. The staff is very courteous. There is waiver of... More

Initially I thought museum would be a boring place to me but ended up I thoroughly enjoyed it and spent entire day here. Exhibitions were just extremely interesting and futuristic. Most unexpected good visit of whole Taiwan trip. Please spare more time to explore it.

Visit with family several times a year (having a 5yr who loves dinosaurs and insects). Every time we come, we found someone new to see - explore all the floors, even outside in the central building, they have a local insects and plants just found in Taiwan, and these are hidden from the main hall. Staff always helpful and a... More

Cheap entry of NT$100 for adults, our under 2 was free. Loads for kids to do and look at. Much bigger than it seems from outside so will need 2 maybe 3 hours to look around. Some displays have English but majority in Chinese which is to be expected. Will visit here again.

Lots of interesting displays but most in Chinese and I have to end up translating all the instruction in the interactive games to my kids who are less than beginners in mandarin!

I should spend at least 2 hours here because it is so big and many things, room to see. If you are traveling with children I really recommend you!!! From here you can visit green house and the garden around the museum. Because it is so big you should ask the map for the house, you can go to the... More
