I stayed in Taichung for 2 days with my husband as part of our Taiwan honeymoon trip. Getting around Taichung is really a hassle as we did not arrange for any booked taxis (due to budget as there is only 2 of us sharing the cost) to fetch us around. From our hotel (Le Parker) we tried to book a... More

A beautiful place to spent your two hours there. It's not a big place but u will spend a lot of time admiring each attraction. A must go for people visiting Xinshe area.

After driving 4.5 hours from Hualian city and driving back from the cottage to Taichung for 1 hour and 15 mins (to where our hotel was), I must say that we as a group, felt cheated. It took a lot of effort to reach the cottage, which was located in a far flung place, with very small roads (we rented... More

Great place to visit with kids and for photo-taking, although the ride up was long and winding. Entry fee was NT100 and in return, they provide NT100 for complimentary use of buying their souvenirs (which is quite worth it). Would recommend getting the lavender and lemon grass ice cream, as well as their lavender cookies. Would recommend to go in... More

It's a place definitely worth going! The place is well maintained and full of life. Even the washrooms are done up with creativity. Though its not the flower blooming season, the place is huge and we spent about 3 hours there. Its commericalised with a cozy feel. You will love the scenery when you climb up to the top of... More

It was a long drive up to this place as it was located on the mountains. But no regrets coming here! Although it wasn't lavender season, the garden was big enough for the kids to spend the day there roaming around. There's a post office shop where you can write, decorate and send postcards anywhere around the world. The ice-cream... More

Like most attractions in Taichung, this place charged an entrance fee, NT100 in this case. Can be used to offset your purchases in the garden though and can combine them to pay for a single item. My suggestion is to just use it to buy the lavender ice cream, as things in all these tourists' attractions are gonna be over... More

We hired a taxi to bring us up the mountain. Is about an hour from Taichung city. Very impressed with the set up and how the staff maintain the cleanliness of the entire garden. Food is delicious, service was prompt. Good sight seeing and explore the entire garden with lavender. we spend a good 3 hours to explore the entire... More

This was part of my itinerary when I planned my Taiwan trip. The drive up the mountain was long but I must say it is worth the ride up. It's a relaxing place that you can spend hours admiring the lavender whilst enjoying your coffee and drink. There are many photo opportunities around the garden so I took many photographs.... More

My driver in taichung kept discouraging me to go to Lavender cottage saying that there's nothing there to see. But me and hubby insisted cos we didn't want to regret not going . So after a long winding road up, I can understand why the driver was not so keen, probably because of the tough drive up. But when we... More
