Absolutely exceptional experience.
The safari was just another world. Waking up each day to be greeted by the big Five was indescribable.
Our guide made every day so fun and interesting and the lodgings were CRAZY BEAUTIFUL.
Luxurious Treehouses within the National Park Canopy was a highlight in Tarangire as well as the GORGEOUS Serengeti Camp and the resort selected in Zanzibar for us.
We ate so much I think we have both come home a stone heavier but the food was so delicious.
Other safari goers always looking on at us with our yummy hot lunch hamper each day. We certainly felt special, which is exactly what we wanted for our anniversary trip.
We chose Luna Safari firstly because of their website... it stood out so much as a family run outfit with a team who really put the effort in. Upon contacting them it became clear we were right.
Were thrilled we chose them, were sad its over but so glad we did this trip. Just worried now that no other holiday we take going forward will compare to this.

We had the most amazing trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar, organised by Luna Safari. The attention to detail from the moment we arrived was fantastic. We were initially nervous about going on safari with our two young daughters (3 & 7 years) but Michaela promised they would create a trip we would not forget, and this is exactly what they did. From giving advice before we traveled, to creating an itinerary that would gave us a taste of local Tanzania life, to the perfect, relaxing finish to our holiday in Zanzibar. We will be talking about this trip for a long time! Our safari guide was Eric, who was the perfect guide, making it his mission that we saw everything we could and getting the best spots to take pictures. He was also the perfect guide to have with children, our girls loved him! Travelling around with young children can come with its challenges, but Luna Safari did everything to make things easy for us, like checking us in at the airport so the children didn’t have to queue and carrying a sleeping 3 year old to allow me to take in the sights is the personal attention to detail you’ll not get with any other company. It was also my husbands birthday while we were there and not only did they arrange two birthday cakes, but our safari jeep was decorated with a birthday banner and balloons. Luna Safari made his birthday this year!
Thank you Luna Safari, we have all left a piece of our hearts in Tanzania and we have taken away memories made with our girls that we’ll keep forever.

If you want to have your holiday of a lifetime ask Luna to arrange it for you.
They created the most wonderful and memorable holiday of our lives. Everything was organised perfectly starting with a champagne greeting at the airport which we enjoyed on our drive to our first hotel stay in Arusha. Our guide Eric then picked us up at 8.30 the following morning and we spent the next 6 days together travelling through the best safari parks in Tanzania, with overnight stays at the most amazing hotels and even 2 nights at a proper lodge under canvas with zebra, gazelle, wildebeest, Impala and lions, just outside our tent! I had my camera and binoculars permanently stuck to my face. Eric made it his mission to make sure I saw leopards in their natural environment, and we saw them twice which brought tears to my eyes. This had been one of my life time ambitions. We also saw hundreds of other birds and animals, many of them right next to our truck.. Luna also arranged a hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti and this was the best experience of my life so far. I was really upset when our safari was over but again Luna pulled all the stops out and arranged for us to stay at a fabulous hotel in the north of Zanzibar with the best bungalow on the site right on the beach where we could watch the sun rise from our fabulous 4 poster bed. Five stars is not enough, it should be a 10 star rating for the best holiday of our lives - Thank you Michaela and Khalfani for making it happen xx

Our time in Tanzania with Luna Safari is something we will never forget. Not a day goes by that me and my husband don't bring up and reflect back on some part of this amazing trip. So much so that we've already been in touch with Michaela & Alfani in order to plan our second safari with them for next year!!
The warm welcome, the kindness and attentiveness we experienced throughout our trip were all absolutely unrivalled by any other company weve ever travelled with or tour weve ever taken.
This wonderful family are doing everything right and the safari they put together for us was nothing short of spectacular. From the beautiful accommodations, exciting game drives which moved at a pace that suited us, the hot hamper lunches, delicious breakfasts and 3 course dinners, our epic balloon flight in Serengeti, bush sundowners and our time on the beaches of Zanzibar.
We feel we got to experience so much of Tanzania which is very clearly a country that Michaela and Alfani (company owners) have such an incredible love for - just ask them why they called their company Luna Safari. They're remarkable people with a beautiful story.
Alfani is a local Tanzanian and Michaela from the UK, which we felt combined the perfect balance of local expertise with exceptionally high standards.
Tanzania is wonderful - book with Luna Safari. You'll have no regrets.

From inquiring about the Safari packages to day to day activities, the organization and communication with Michaela has been phenomenal. Accommodation chosen throughout the trip was awesome.
I had a variety of different activities added to my original Safari and enjoyed these with my specialized guides for each. Luna’s guides (shoutout to Abdi, Kennedy and ANDERSON!) are exceptionally talented at what they do best, and genuinely care about the quality of your experience. I had a day hike on Kilimanjaro, saw waterfalls and hotsprings, and saw the Big 5 in my safaris through the National Parks.
What I appreciated most about Luna Safari is the personalized touches around my tour and I really felt like a priority, not just another client.
I highly recommend Luna Safari for your Tanzanian adventure!

This was a dream trip, and Luna Safari was exceptional as we explored the untamed beauty and magic of Tanzania. From the initial planning with Michaela until our departure, all went as planned and described. Communication was prompt and easy. She matched us with THE BEST guide - Anderson - that we could have asked for. His knowledge of the parks and all the animals was beneficial and he taught us so much. Yes, we spotted the Big 5! Very impressed with the service and amenities at all the accommodations.

It was absolutely, amazing to see this beautiful country and the natural habitat of the animals in Tanzania. We were able to see the big five as well as so many more animals and we learned so much. Luna Safari provided exemplary service. They really care about their clients and the experience they have while on their adventure. Michaela and Alfani were so easy to work with and helped us plan this amazing trip as well as provided support throughout the entire process. Our guide, Anderson, was awesome! He was knowledgeable, informative, and focused on our wants/needs to ensure the best experience while on Safari. We had a lot of fun and gained a new friend! It was a trip of a lifetime. My mum and I came for her 80th birthday and a trip of a lifetime for me. We have treated like royalty and seen more than I ever dreamed of. The big 5 and so close to everything. Eric was the most incredible guide, with knowledge about not only the animals but the locals, locations, food, and so much more. He made the trip an awesome experience.

Honestly, I'm not even sure where to start because everything was simply amazing!
First off, Michaela was incredible from the very beginning. The communication and information she provided was stellar and she literally thought of everything. During our stay, she was constantly available to answer our questions. It was such a joy to meet Michaela, Alfani, and their darling boys during our stay.
Next up, Eric, our Luna Safari guide. Eric was delightful, knowledgeable, and always managed to get us to the right spot at the right time to see everything. We all fell in love with Eric! Fun, funny, and the best guide we could have asked for. Definitely request Eric!
Every day of the safari was amazing with the following day being even better. Each day building upon itself with the scenery, the animals, and the lodging. Everyone was gracious, generous, and so very kind.
Spending time in the Serengeti for my birthday was something I'll never forget. Not only did they make me a birthday cake, but the staff at the camp came out and sang and danced. Of course, I had to join in and we danced with everyone in the camp. It was brilliant and so very special. The next night was my partners birthday and the same care and love was put into his celebration.
The roads are bumpy! Eric was right that we had a "massage" everyday! Like I said, funny guy!
Spending time in Zanzibar was the perfect way to close out this trip of a lifetime. The people are wonderful. The hotel had AC (much welcomed after days in the jeep!) and the best spiced coffee I've ever had.
I cannot thank Michaela, Alfani, Eric, and the entire staff at Luna for providing a top-notch experience! Much love to you all!

Aww Audrey, you're so incredibly kind. We're so happy to have had the opportunity to meet you and your group. It was just like meeting with old friends. You guys all had such a fun energy that was really infectious.
And a huge thank you as well for the amazing sports equipment you donated to the local school, they were so happy. You have a very kind heart.
