Juma organised a truly great trip for our family ! he easily adapted to our requirements and last minute changes.
We stayed 11 days in the north part of Tanzania and went to different parks. Juma also recommended to visit a bushmen village as well as arts and crafts which we loved.
Samuel and Hamisi, our guides were very professional and always helpful. Their kindness will always be linked to Tanzania. They were both very good at showing animals, giving many explanations and context.
You can join Juma very easily : sumbij3@gmail.com or on whatsapp +255784751244
He will answer very fast and help make your dream come true !

Our driver and guide, Bahati, is an exceptional person. Always on time and willing to help us with our needs. Very friendly as well.

What a great adventure!
Juma listened to us to create a tailor-made safari according to our desires and our budget. We did Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Tarangire.
He is a trustworthy person, he responds very quickly to emails or on whatsapp.
We had a passionate guide who spoke very well French (Nashiri). He also speaks German and English. He adapts to your rythm. He was always in a good mood, very pleasant, not intrusive and all his explanations were clear and precise. The moments shared with him were so precious and they will remain engraved for life.

The proposed lodges and tents were of a high standard with very good meals, hot water and comfortable beds. Positive point: at lunchtime vs. other tour operators, we had very good meals even with coffee!
Also, the kilometers traveled during the day are not counted, as long as you want to enjoy it, the guide continues and shows you numerous animals, even very, very close!
I recommend going through Juma for the organization of your safari.
Asante sana Juma and Nashiri for a successful dreamed vacation!

We have just returned from an unforgettable safari. Samuel, our English and French speaking driver-guide was top notch. He has a great knowledge of the wildlife and was always attentive to our requests and made sure they were met. Thank you Samuel!
Juma's organisation was perfect regarding the tour and the choice of lodges. Some of them were located in the heart of nature for our greatest pleasure.
I highly recommend the services of Sumbi Extra Miles Safari for their professionalism.

Originally I wanted to join a group for Safari. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic I didn't find any other tourists who wanted to do a trip at my dates for ten days. Sumbi-Extra-Miles arranged a wonderful program for me for a good price which made my experience unforgettable! The guide Samwel was very friendly, could answer ANY question I asked him and stayed with me (except the nights) from the airport pick up until ten days later when he droped me at the airport again.
I only stayed in luxury hotels. The first nights I spent in Tulia hotel which was comfortable, calm and had delicious food. During the Safari I slept at Eyleens Trees Inn where I lived in my own (I would say small but it was huge!) house, nature around was fantastic and they even had a pool (as Tulia hotel). The accommodation in Serengeti called Sound of Silence was unbeatable. I had a luxury tent on my own situated in the middle of the savannah. There was even hot water, a very comfortable bed and the view directly on Impalas and other animals passing by. There was a guardian keeping everything save who accompanied me when going to the main tent for dinner.
Before we started with the "real" Safari, Sam showed me some places in the region like Materuni waterfalls and Masai village. Especially the visit of a Masai family was very impressing as they were original and haven't met many tourists yet. Already after those trips I was more than satisfied and have learned loads of things. We started the Safari with Tarangire national park where we saw lots and lots of elephants, giraffes, impalas, monkeys and more. The second day Samwel drove to Manyara national park which was like a forest. Therefore it was quite different to Tarangire but we still were able to see a big amount of animals. That was the day when I saw my first lion! The next day we went on to Ngorongoro crater. The environment was stunning and we were lucky to have a cloudless day. The concentration of animals down in the crater was so high, there was no moment I did not see an animal. Something I found very impressing during the whole trip was that (especially the big) animals don't run away so you can see them from REALLY close! The two following days in Serengeti were amazing. The landscapes were as wide as I have never seen it before and we saw again all of the lovely animals we have seen at the other places (except the rhino) and more!
Back in Arusha I had some relaxing time where I could enjoy Tulia hotel and walk around in town before continuing my journey.
Before and after the Safari Juma, the founder of Sumbi-Extra-Miles came over to meet me and make sure everything is fine. He made it possible to add two more days spontaneously and fulfilled together with Samwel all of my wishes like buying tanzanite stone. I can fully recommend Sumbi-Extra-Miles-Safari and trust that your Safari will be unforgettable! Thank you very much Samwel for showing me this part of the world, accompanying me and taking care of me :)

In preparation for our safari, we shared our ideas and wishes already with our guide whom we found on a French forum. His name is Juma and he is working as a safari guide since 2007 with some companies. Now he has founded his own company. In the beginning we were hesitating a bit to transfer the money for our trip but we found out 2 important things:
Juma is an absolutely trustworthy person!
He has to pay the local accommodation already upfront to ensure the reservation
So our experience about this was absolutely positive and you can fully trust Juma. So we planned our Safari’s together with Juma and decided on the following schedule which was also a perfect fit:

We arrived pretty late in Kilimajaro Airport next to Arusha and Juma picked us up and took us to the Arusha Summit Lodge for 1 night. On the next day, we started our Safari and had the
2 following nights in Sangaiwe in an amazing tented camp.
We visited a coffee plantation which was very interesting and we brewed our own coffee there
Next 2 days we spent in Tarangire National Park for a safari viewing, fantastic nature and the animals were amazing. Juma is so well connected with the other guides that we always got the very good spots. At the end of the second day, we proceeded to Karatu in the evening.
3 nights in Marera Valley Lodge:
First day, we spent at lake Manyara national park for game viewing where you can have a chance to see a lions climb tree and the flamingos. We also saw hippos and a lot of other amazing animals.
Marera Valley Lodge
Next day we visited a small Masai village for half day (not the touristic ones!) and learned a lot about their life and culture. We continued with a visit to Mto wa Mbu village, interesting spot is the rice plantation, banana fields, see and meet with local people and have a later lunch with really great local food!!
After another night in Marera, we left after breakfast to Serengeti national park to start our safari there. It was considered the highlight but we have already seen so much great and impressive stuff, we could hardly believe this is gonna be topped, but it was!
We slept another 2 nights in Thorn Tree tented camp and spent incredible days in Serengeti. Although we were not at the right time for the big migration, the amount of animals is breathtaking and you see them everywhere up to the horizon. We were wondering sometime how Juma could spot even very small or far away animals with the bare eyes but he did and after we took the binoculars we could see them too. We spotted rock with lion families on it, Cheetahs, Hyenas, Elephants (coming very close), elegant Giraffes, Leopards and many, many more. The time was really too short for all the nature!
After Serengeti and on our way back, we spend another day in Ngorongoro which is such a unique place. We even saw some very rare black Rhinos and a big pack of lions who were just hunting down a buffalo. This crater is very special as it has kind of a microclimate so the nature has developed in a different way.
After this amazing day we stayed one more night in Eileen’s tree Inn and headed back the next day to Kilimanjaro Airport.

Although it was a very short time, we enjoyed every minute. Juma’s recommendations about where to stay were excellent and did always even exceed our expectations. Spending nights in Serengeti in a (luxury) tent is an amazing experience especially when you hear the animals out there during the night. This is a very unique experience!!
Juma takes extremely good care of his guests, communication in different languages is no problem and even when you knew that there is a longer car ride ahead of you, Juma always found interesting things on the way to show, so the time simply flies!
Wherever we stayed we always got nice food boxes so we had many picnic-lunches (but be aware that many animals also know where the picnic areas are, so sometimes you have to defend your food a bit) and also water and other soft drinks are always in your car.
Summarizing it, we can say is that this was an outstanding and amazing trip and without Juma we are convinced it would not have been like that. When you plan something similar you can fully trust and rely on him!
